smccray Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 So I ran down to the airport this afternoon in anticipation of a trip tomorrow morning. I was closing the hangar about to leave the airport and the thought of being airplane-less made me a little sad. If things go as planned I'll have an opportunity to work over seas for 3 weeks per month if not permanently and it doesn't make sense to hang onto the plane. I don't like the idea of no longer owning N205MH. It's been a reliable plane. I know I have options (lease, pickle, etc.) but it just doesn't make sense. Quote
kmyfm20s Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 If it's not finacial that you have to get ride of it and you want to buy some time you can make or buy an engine desicator to prevent internal corrosion. It's no fun selling than having to turn around a have to buy again. I hate the desquawk process of a new plane. 1 Quote
Marauder Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Well, you can always give it to me. I will watch her, him or it for you. Quote
smccray Posted September 11, 2013 Author Report Posted September 11, 2013 Can you take it with you? Anything is possible but it doesn't make sense. Find a partner? That would keep the airplane flying but it doesn't make sense. I guess I could just send it to Delaware to live.... If it's not finacial that you have to get ride of it and you want to buy some time you can make or buy an engine desicator to prevent internal corrosion. It's no fun selling than having to turn around a have to buy again. I hate the desquawk process of a new plane. Not a financial situation. Travel won't start for at least a year so there's plenty of time. Hell- I'm going to fly my plane for another 6 months before I put it on the market, but the prospect of being without a plane doesn't make me happy. Mama wants A/C, so when I stop traveling in a couple years I guess I'll look for an R model . I'll have to save my pennies from not flying for a couple years to buy it, but anything to keep mama happy. Well, you can always give it to me. I will watch her, him or it for you. Very generous of you!!! I'll keep that in mind. Quote
flyboy0681 Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 A guy two hangar doors down from me is a German citizen and owns a Commander 114. He visits Florida about 5x a year and has a friend run the plane up every couple of weeks in exchange for occasional free use of it. Quote
mike_elliott Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 If your trip takes you close to Lakeland on Saturday, Scott, stop in at 11:30am for the Southeast Mooney Group luncheon Quote
