  1. I had mine painted at Mena, Arkansas. They did a great job for about 10-11K. I'm located in Dyersburg, TN  (west TN).  Good luck

  2. Yep, It's close, but doable. The baggage hatch is tight, but works. Through the door an into the backseat is very easy. I just bought us the Allen XWay and Allen Ultra 1 Carbon to save even more weight. Really anxious to take them on a road trip and give them a try. We tried the ones I have posted for sale around the neighborhood to see if I could fit on one comfortably and not look like a monkey riding a football. It felt pretty good so we went all in and got the new Allens.
  3. If you can get me one for $150 shipped with Ram mount I'll take two. Here is one example, feel free to browse the average prices. Even at my asking price I said I was open to B/O, but $150 won't do it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-iPad-mini-MD535LL-A-7-9-in-32GB-Wi-Fi-Cellular-4G-OS6-Black-/272010389387?hash=item3f5515278b:g:Ti4AAOSwA4dWFpqw Thanks for your input though. -Tom
  4. Hey Fellow Mooniacs, I have two folding bikes that I am selling. I bought these about a month ago to put in the Mooney for trips. We like the idea so much we've decided to step up our game and purchased a couple of the Allen higher end folding bikes. The two we are selling are great bikes and a easy way to get into something economically. They are both single speed. The Retrospec was bought used, but is in excellent shape. The Dahon was purchased brand new by me. Asking $225 each shipped to lower 48. Feel free to save $35 on each and fly out to DYR (Dyersburg, TN) and we can have a Mooniac lunch and talk flying...on me -Tom Retrospec Speck SS Folding Bike Retrospec Bicycles brings you the ultimate folding bicycle for the always-on-the-go commuting cyclist. The Speck conforms to this California company’s “less is more” mentality with its simple single-speed drive train and its ultra-light aluminum frame. Need to brake? No problem. This bike operates on a coaster brake, allowing you to stop easily by pedaling backward. No worrying about brake cables or shifters, as they’re all unnecessary on this baby. The Speck is clad with ergonomic grips and the famous Retrospec saddle, so you can cycle comfortably. And when you’ve arrived at your destination, fold your bike and hide it away. Ride with ease, maintain with ease, and transport with ease. The Speck is recommended for riders ranging from 4’8” to 6’6”, under 240 lbs. Dahon Boardwalk Folding Bike, Obsidian One-speed urban utility bike with frame that folds in less than 15 seconds Folds to 12.1 by 30.4 by 25.4 inches; weighs 27.3 pounds Magnetix latch system holds the bike together when folded Adjustable stem adapts to riders of all sizes from under five feet to over six feet tall Dahon Neos rear derailleur offers crisp, fast shifting and a low profile design
  5. This is a big reach here. You installed new boots. The rubber is going newer (stiffer as well). Have you checked the vac on the lines. Possible vacuum leak? I'm thinking maybe when you first installed the new boots they worked for a few flights because the old lines could handle the extra pressure for a short few flights, but actually the boot being stiffer and new was in fact really creating a higher vacuum pull on old lines. The lines may have been strong enough for a few flights, but suddenly developed a leak (dry rot lines). I know it's a reach and might not fit your problem scenario, but I do know my lines were in of replacement bad. They worked until I had a boot develop a tear. In the trouble shooting process the lines were checked and several would almost tear and crumble with any slight movement. It was a wonder they could hold any pressure at all. As far as your binding I think it is only because the boots are new. I think with proper vacuum and alignment you would be working. I'm not sure that's the culprit, but I'm just a pilot not a MX. Just a thought.. Good luck, -Tom
  6. I have a IPad Mini for sale that I was using in the Mooney. I also have a Air that I use more often so I'm selling the Mini. I will also include the Ram Mount Holder. Paypal is okay. Looking for $375 shipped to the lower 48. Comes with original box, ear-buds, power cube, power cord, and Ram tray.
  7. Hey guys..I didn't forget about the armrest. I looked all through my paperwork and receipts and can't find the Sporty's receipt (that's what usually happens when I do a file purge after 10 yrs). I'm 99% sure that's where I got it (Sporty's). I even spent some time looking through old emails and searching the web hoping someone might have some old posts about it or them. Can't find anything. I do think they called it a "Center Console Cockpit Organizer". I found some old web threads showing a bigger version they had. There are no manufacturing stamps or brand recognition on the piece. I did finally get to the hanger and pulled it out of the plane and will forward a few pictures with measurements. I really don't think it would be hard to make something similar to it. Just wanted to give both of you heads up.. -Tom
  8. I went through the same thoughts and ended up with this. Merry Christmas to myself. I have not had it installed yet, just waiting to get through all the holidays and recent bad weather. I like the wig/wag safety feature. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/el/ledlighting_zaeroleds/sunspot46hx.php -Tom
  9. The shop that did the OH is a good shop. The panel looks well done. This plane is about 30 minutes from me. There are no MSCs in our area. There are shops that are near by.(Caruthersville Avionics-talk to Chris or call Jewell Aviation in Kennett, MO-talk to Sam) and ask them about it. They are fairly close to where the plane is based. I'm sure they will remember working on it and can give their opinion of its condition. -Tom
  10. Aero Comfort will cover them in leather and sew a PTT in the leather so there is a small switch. Kind of $, but is very convenient and came out nice. Kind of a crappy picture, but here is my co-pilot side. Actually there was a larger head on the right side, but it has managed to come off. Since I never have a pilot in the other seat I just left it off, but you can see the small tip at the top.
  11. Chris,..It's been darn cold and ice the last several days. I'm way overdue to check this out for you guys, but I'll try to get the info posted up this weekend. I did look at the online Sportys and did not see it anymore either. By the weekend for sure. -Tom
  12. Not sure of the number of flights, but managed about 85 hrs total for 2015. I also got to experience two longer VFR xcountry trips this past year (Tennessee to Maine-twice) My longest to date. It was a great learning experience. Hoping 2016 will bring more cross-country allowing me to really use the Mooney for what it was built for. -Tom
  13. I'm assuming he means some boot included. Not a crazy request. He wants to trade up and looking for someone who wants to trade down.
  14. We just bought a couple folding bikes. With it being tax time and in order to maintain my membership in the CB club I've just ordered cheaper Dahon and Retrospec folding bikes. Hopefully they will fit in the Mooney backseat. These are lower-end folding bikes, but we just wanted to give it a try and see how we like it. She is an avid rider and has a high-end road bike, me not so much. I know I'll like the fact we have more freedom once we land someplace and the crew car is not available..sometimes we would rather ride anyway. Usually I fly solo so mine will probably stay in the plane pretty regular, she only likes to fly when the GPS line is pointing to warmer weather and the ocean. If they fit we will take them to Marathon, Florida and ride the beach area in a few months. Should be fun and a new experience to our flying. -Tom
  15. I'll see what I can come up with. I usually keep most of my receipts and such. I'll also get you the pics. I didn't get to the hanger over the weekend (rain/ice) so I get it for you as soon as possible. -Tom
  16. Bought the unit from Sporty's. Then I made a base from wood, attached it to the bottom of the unit and covered it in vinyl fabric I had left over from my interior. The base sits on the floor between the backseat and the emergency gear extension. The unit comes with options such as cup holder and extended armrest. The rear cup holder kind of supports on the rear seat. The extended armrest is removable. If I'm on a longer trip I put it on, if just local I use it as pictured. If I get a chance over the weekend I'll send you a few more pictures. I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks. Works great and actually creates some elbow space between the pilot and co-pilot. -Tom
  17. Congrats..Well done
  18. I guess I'm in the camp of do the "Diversity" install. I have the two antennas. Not sure what I would be missing without, but I guess my thought was "While they are there go ahead and do it", I'm sure it would cost later if they had to re-wire and re-run wires. This philosophy might get me suspended from the CB Club for a week or so, but if you can swing it why not now than later...assuming you might want it later. -Tom
  19. Both..Heavy duty double sided tape and a couple small screws.
  20. This is a picture before I put them in, but they are mounted on the side-wall right above the arm rest below the vent window (in the void area). They fold up and are not in the way.
  21. Another vote on the Sidewinder. Works excellent on my E and only takes a few minutes to get it attached.
  22. Done..Thanks for the site.
  23. Very sad news to wake up to...Really does hit home when it is someone that we know, even if it is by MS only. As you read people's posts you start to feel like you know them in a way. A tragic loss. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers for the family and surviving son. -Tom
  24. For sale now for 5K. I assume the wife found the Accutrack?
  25. I have these as well. Have two up front and two in the rear. Work great!
