  1. Done, set up a recurrent monthly donation.
  2. I once started the engine with the cowl plugs still installed. I put the straps over the prop which makes them fly away. There is no way you would not notice them "being removed"...
  3. I tried to do the same, but it seems that the design of the doghouse of the M20C (70) is different...
  4. It sounds ok. I will do the same with my #3. My #3 is very hot and this may help. I will report back once I am done. Actually, Wasn't there somebody else who mentioned that he did the same and had a similar result? Or is it me that I am spending too much time around here...
  5. not really worth while...just upgrade
  6. I would suggest to land in Lancaster itself. Nice airport nice hotels etc. Also rental cars are available on the field.
  7. I agree with Hank. On the ground is the safest.
  8. I use two contours and one go pro. I attach them with the pads that come with the cameras (in the past I used the suction cups...but after losing two cameras....I decided to go a different route) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  9. Jajajaja thanks...it is fun, but at this juncture of my life I will stick to my day job! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. Here are some pictures on how I connected the ferry tank to the fuel tank. I got a ferry permit.
  11. Hector, I bought the 23 gallon ferry tank at Turtle pac (http://www.turtlepac.com/en/photo-gallery/aircraft-ferry-tanks.html). Not cheap (about 2K) but extremely well build and reliable. It comes with a small electric pump to transfer fuel from the ferry to the mains. This gave me about 2 hrs in addition to what i already had, in total about 72 gallons. I flew Key west to Guatemala (MGGT) in about 6 hours and arrived with a decent reserve.
  12. I flew my M20c from key west to Guatemala City. Could I have done it using the long range endurance power settings? May be, but I preferred to have gas in the tanks just in case of bad weather or any other contingency. So I decided to get a 23 gallons ferry tank. This buys you a lot of sanity and if needed you can always revert to the technic.
  13. I changed the yokes in my M20C the "old model" to the new 201 style yokes. Thus I am selling the old ones (they are finished in leather). Somebody interested PM me.
  14. Call me old school... I prefer paper. I tried out two electronic ones on my iphone. Sure check was one, nice but somehow I prefer paper.
  15. Flying time Guatemala City (Mggt) to Flores (Tikal, MGMM) 1.1 hours. Driving time 10 hours.
  16. I use spot. It works well but is not designed for airplane use. It sends a message every ten minutes or so . Thus you get tracking points that are far apart but otherwise it works great.
  17. really nice! and the B 17 amazing.
  18. Seth Thank you for sharing this. Indeed, DA is a very serious issue that we have to keep in mind when we operate our airplanes out of high field elevations and/or on hot and humid days. I sometimes see the impact of DA during my take offs from MGGT. The field is at 5000 feet and temp gets up in the 90s. But the runway is about 9k feet long, so there is plenty of space. But when I fly down to the beach and land on the grass runway the situation changes dramatically. The runway is only 3.5 k long and when it gets really hot >100 and humid and I try to take off with full tanks and two passengers... It does get interesting. Thanks God our fellow aviators were flying a Mooney... My thoughts are with them and their families. Oscar
  19. but still a great scenary... Oscar
  20. incredible...
  21. Use the subscription for the 795/796 instead. You can buy a 795/796 for the price of the software key for the 750. Jeppview plates for the 795 are much cheaper than the 750 subscription.
  22. Try out the simulator. I liked the additional functionality of the 750 and went for it.
  23. congratulations
