  1. Check your battery connection to ground. Clean your battery terminals and tighten cables. Clean and tighten positive cable connection at the starter and opposite end of that cable. Clean and tighten cable at solenoid. Check and tighten all heavy cable connections in starter circuit.
  2. My 3rd class medical just expired so I made an appointment to get it renewed. But I was wondering about the new medical that is now available and if that might be an easier, faster and less expensive route? Anybody taken advantage of the new system.
  3. It would get plenty of oil at start up. Rotating one revolution isn’t a bad idea if the plane is put up for some time. I agree, not sure if the benefit out weighs the possible live mag. I can also see how a mechanical problem might show its face while flipping the prop through.
  4. Turning the engine over just one revolution would put the suspended oil from the bottom of the cam lobe to the top of the cam where it is free to run back over the cam lobes while the engine is cool.
  5. I had to look it up. What a GREAT place!!
  6. Do you need to be a resident to fly in there? You never know when I might venture in from Ohio to check things out.
  7. Have you been flying in and out of the airport? Are you pretty close to the runway or is there a lot of taxiing?
  8. Boy, you didn’t waste any time! Really looks nice...I’m jealous!
  9. Cool little planes. If I was younger and could afford it, I’d buy one.
  10. Sounds like a wood wing, wo9d tail Mooney. You better know what you are doing before jumping into that one.
  11. I forget, did his dad wreck the Mooney and that’s what killed him?
  12. And very expensive. If you spend the night.
  13. I bought my plane several years ago and avoided sales tax here in Ohio as it was a casual sale. I’ve been looking at property in Arizona and New Mexico for use as a winter home for five or six months per year. I would be unhappy if suddenly I got hit from that state with a tax bill for a plane I bought five years ago. for winter a winter home for five or six months a year.
  14. On the chart you suggest looking at.... what is a “ flyaway state”.
  15. Looks like a three blade prop and all are bent. Must have been rotating somewhat.
  16. No. German, Italian, Welch and Irish ... that I know about.
  17. We must be related!
  18. What about Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Florida. Those are all states I’m considering buying a winter home. I didn’t pay Ohio tax as it was a casual sale.
  19. I know some of you guys think an audible voice command at stall or gear up warning is for sissies but to clear it up, the reason I installed it is I wear foam ear plugs under my noise cancelling headsets and really don’t always hear the horns. I deifinitley hear the voice warnings through the headset.
  20. I guess my concern arrived in my head yesterday when I was flying the pattern in preparation for landing. Downwind no problem, base... no problem but final I wanted to maintain 80/85 mph slow to 80 at the fence 75 at the numbers etc. When I slowed to 80 and checked the surroundings then rechecked the airspeed I was at 70. No big deal as I just lowered the nose a little and added a little throttle. An audible signal would have been nice at that point. I’m sure I could have dipped into the horn and I’m sure recovered from that but personally I would have felt better if I would get a tap on the shoulder saying do what you need to do to get the landing descent back in order before a stall horn goes off.
  21. Robert, I have the AV17 system in my plane and really like it. However, I seem to remember a short delay from the time I trigger the stall horn until the audible warning sounds. I need to verify that but that’s what I seem to remember.
  22. In looking at probable cause of most of the fatal plane crashes it seems they are usually in the pattern at departure or final and are usually stall spin killers with virtually no time to recover. I can see how this can easily happen while trying to manage a minimum airspeed on approach to a short runway as an example. I was thinking an electronic warning system that might say “approaching stall” at some speed prior to the “stall” warning seems like it would be nice to have and doable with an electronic system. This could probably be wired to the air speed indicator? I remember my uncle had a 64 Buick Wildcat that had an adjustable warning system on the speedometer that would buzz when he hit what ever speed he set on the needle. Something similar would be nice if you could adjust in a 5 or 6 knot pre warning signal. Maybe my thinking is flawed? Any thoughts?
  23. How about some pictures.
  24. Is this the plane advertised here on Mooney Space and at KTCY?
  25. I like your choice of words....”it all boils down to”. Haha
