  1. We had a Bruce for our LongEZ and it never fit right and the wing covers did fall apart after 2 years. We bought a cover from Airplane-Covers/Custom Cabin Covers 906-343-6664 for our M20C. The cover was about $250 and after 3 years in the Southern California sun it is still in excellent condition.
  2. I just came across an Invacare Oxygen concentrator and compressor that allows you to fill oxygen tanks at home. It is design for medical use, but I don't see why one couldn't use it to fill oxygen tank for aviation use. Maybe members working in the medical field familiar with similar equipment can shed some light on this. Having a hassle free way to refill oxygen tank, without renting big bottles and paying the $50 FBO charge sounds very appealing. What do I miss here? Thank you, Frank
  3. No tray or connector. Would make a nice upgrade of your old KT76A.
  4. Very clean KX165 760CH 28V $1200
  5. Please see below information from a post 6 month ago: Posted 22 November 2013 - 04:06 PM Here is some information I got earlier this week from Honeywell's Technical Support: Here is the information I have on the on the STC and WAAS unts. Also, is a short FAQ. The WAAS enabled GPS sources that the KT 74 will be approved for use as an ADS-B approved GPS source are: o Freeflight Systems 1201 o Accord Technologies NexNav mini o Garmin GNS 400W/500W o Bendix-King KSN 770 The aircraft that will be included on the initial STC Approved Model List are: • Cessna 172/182 • Mooney M20 • Piper PA-28 Follow on activities are being planned to increase the scope of the STC. We will be looking at the GPS sources which need to be added (GTN650/750) as well as prioritizing which aircraft (Beech, helicopters, etc) need to be added to the list. And,,, the FAQ's -- 1) Define “Plug & Play”: Is it truly P&P or are there variations? For example, if you have a 28v aircraft that is currently utilizing the King Dropping Resistor, does the dropping resistor need to be removed? You can leave the dropping resistors in place. 2) I assume this unit does in fact have extended squitter? Yes it Does 3) My understanding is that in order to properly interrogate ground stations, a Mode S transmitter must receive appropriate GPS data. What GPS’s are compatible as a source of this data? KSN 765/770, GNS 4XXW/5XXW, NexNav mini, FreeFlight 1201 4) Does this unit have the ability to interface to a “Display” to view TIS-B Traffic? If so, what displays are currently compatible? The unit does not support TIS-B (ADS-B traffic) but does support TIS-A traffic (Mode S, US only) 5) I assume this unit will not receive FIS-B; Am I correct? If I am wrong, what displays are currently compatible? Correct. KT 74 is a Mode S unit only and does not support UAT. 6) Going back to the P&P question....It is my experience that at times there are different cable length requirements and antenna requirements. Is this a possible change with the KT74 for which my be an exception to the P&P advertising? As long as the baseline unit being removed was installed in accordance with its installation manual with the appropriate antennas, the KT 74 will work fine.

  8. This might interest the SoCal mooniacs, against popular believe there seems to be free lunch once in a while "2014 GCC SSD 'Exploring IN-FLIGHT Emergencies' with ROD MACHADO--FREE Lunch (See Parking-FREE)" On Saturday May 31, 2014 at 9:00 am Select Number: WP0155507 Location: Glendale Community College-(GCC)--Student Center Rm # 212 1500 North Verdugo Road SC 212 (Student Center) Glendale, CA 91208
  9. If you are in Southern California I highly recommend Randy ( www.pitotstaticguys.com ). He travels to you for free and his flat fee is $225. My static system was in bad shape and he did all repairs for a very reasonable price.
  10. My last IFR certification in January was $550, but this included rebuilding both drains and replacing most of the connections behind the panel. If no repairs were required $500 seems high.
  11. I am looking for a Insight Adapter CHT Probe P/N 2856 Threaded.
  12. Take a closer look at the pictures, the "propeller design" might hold the answer...
  13. Used Garmin Transponder GTX 320 A for sale. Includes installation manual, tray and connector.
  14. Beautiful, but with $407 out of my price range. In the meantime your post inspired me to do some research and I am on my way to West Marine... http://www.westmarine.com/portable-chargers/blue-sea-systems--12v-dual-usb-charger-socket-panel-mount--14152532
  15. I believe you are on the wrong TRAK here (pun intended) The two valves serve a very different purpose, the top one disconnects the positive control, the BI-805 is part of the Accu-Trak autopilot. It is connected to the control head and the electric valve open and close to relay the steering commands from the Accu-Trak to the servos. In our M20C the BI-805 is mounted in between the eye-brows. I will try to take a picture later today.
  16. Good fun, ended up with the 201 as well. I went back and tried different answers to get a feel for the differentiators, and the $50 bottle of wine bottle is what move one to the Beech camp.... Funny fact is that we have a good friend who has a very fast Bonanza and he brings a $50 bottle every time he visits…
  17. Obviously you are not a “Canard Piloto”
  18. Does anybody have by any chance a more recent data card for a GARMIN GNC150XL? Thank you, Frank
  19. I have an AutoCAD drawing of the instrument panels of our 1970 M20C. We had a shop laser cut the panels using a CNC machine. Let me know if this would help.
  20. I have a complete VFR setup for sale. All radios come with trays and most wiring. GPS antenna is included as well. Garmin GPS-150XL VFR GPS / Moving Map $900 The GPS-150XL is a very good VFR GPS-only product. If you do not need IFR capability, a COMM transceiver built in to your GPS, or a color display, this is as good as it gets. King KY-97A COMM Transceiver $800 The King KY-97A is a lower-cost King COMM, designed for aircraft with 14 volt electrical systems. The KY-97A is capable of tuning 760 COMM channels. Like the KY-96A, the KY-97A uses an LCD display. (The KY-196 and KY-197 series have the gas discharge display, as well as more power, but at a higher cost.) Garmin GTX-320A Transponder $800 The Garmin GTX-320A is an updated version of the GTX-320. The GTX-320A produces 200 watts of transmission power, offering long range and operation up to 50,000 feet. Plus, the GTX-320A does this without a cavity. As a result, reliability is improved, and no warm-up time is needed before operation.
  21. I bought over the years different radios and accessories from PCA mainly due to 0% sales tax in OR, and had a GTX 320A installation done. No complains, however this was nothing complex and doesn't compare to your project. I would check out Executive Aircraft Maintenance (EAM) in Scottsdale, AZ they do beautiful high end work and are not that far from you.
  22. SkyRadar ADS-B In Receiver Unit worked well for me with WingsX and IFLYGPS Apps. Complete with all accessories in original box. Included is antenna extension cable. $275.- Key features: SkyRadar-L’s operating frequency is 978MHz and conforms to DO-282B ADS-B standard. Integrated on board WAAS capable (non TSO) 1Hz GPS receiver Output data over Wi-Fi network (multiple displays can be connected) USB high speed serial port output Input voltage 11-36 volts Power consumption less than 5 watt
  23. We installed 2 years ago a GX60 and it has served us very well. The radio is connected to the Accutrac autopilot and this combination work very well. If you use the MD CDI you will miss out on the vertical guidance feature, a function we use on almost every flight. Despite the fact that we are very happy with our setup in light of the service / display issues I would install a Garmin 300XL if I had to do it again.
  24. KT76A transponder removed for upgrade including tray, connector, wiring and ACK encoder. $450
  25. I had a similar problem with my KX165. After getting taking for $1000 ride by a dishonest radio shop in the Los Angeles area, I researched the problem myself and it was a defective audio panel.
