  1. Our amazing Mooneys
  2. Bought the Lightspeed delta last year with a few others here on the bulk sale program they had, also bought the A 30s sold my A20s. I have the Lightspeed Zulu also. I made a mistake selling my two A20s which I liked better than my A30s, dislike my Delta Zulus and my Lightspeed Zulus are ok. Moral I like the original Bose A20 by far the Lightspeed Zulus are ok and dislike the Deltas. Tried the in ear many love here my wife loves her Clarity headset. Should try the companies that will give 30 day trials. Good luck
  3. Or you can save money like the previous owner of my Acclaim did and wait 18 months to change the oil, the plus I managed to get a new top based on negligence. Must have save 500-750 in oil changes along with all new cylinders. BTW it was quite yucky. Oil is cheap why do some skip filter changes or change the filter every three oil changes. I must be doing something wrong D
  4. I had the Tanis on my J years ago before my heated hanger, it was the complete kit not just a heater patch on the bottom. It did a remarkable job keeping my engine nice and warm. In about 18 years of usage I had no issues or engine problems. A great lycoming in that plane
  5. I assume my gear lever switch is the culprit, about 4-5 times in last couple months I moved the switch to drop the gear and nothing happened, after 3-4 times pulling and moving down it finally engaged. Once almost aborted approach as it didn’t engage then luckily it caught. What is the issue, gear switch or something else. D
  6. Our planes are marvelous when looking at the fleet as a whole, we have planes capable of 140-230 knots and 8-18 GPH alone with useful loads up to approximately 1150 lbs range up to 1400 miles. Entering prices between 90-650,000 dollars. Comparison to other fleets we’re hard to beat for 2-4 person planes. I’ve had J models a Bravo and Acclaim. If you don’t have a need for carrying much load want a sporty affordable plane stay here. D
  7. I’ve been GA friendly KAEG Double Eagle a few times, very nice FBO, nice people no downside. Can be busy with student training. D
  8. Awesome trip, fantastic panel D
  9. My Erik time flys I remember bringing you to pick it up.. another job of great airmanship D

    LOP again

    Thanks Paul.

    LOP again

Another question…. When or if do you enriches the mixture on descent say your completing a long CC at 15,000 ft and you LOP at 15 GPH, all hypothetical, I’ve pushed in the red knob around 18” and 4000 ft or so, or is that not necessary. When I first got the Acclaim I was LOP. going into St Louis and the engine knocked out on the runway quite scary, had enough energy to go off the taxiway and restart.
  12. Lance time is flying by to fast, no pun intended. I’ve finally moved my acclaim above my bravo. This weekends trip to the gulf coast finally did it, approximate fuel savings $250..and about 40 minutes faster. Flew approximately 1000 miles using 70 gallons and truing 190 LOP 13,000, 4 gph less. D
  13. Seems like daily hangers are going up quite fast.
  14. No, the inside will go normally not the outside latch it almost closes
  15. It closes ok inside outside the handle stops about a half inch from closing 40 years flying Mooneys a new first…D
  16. Agreed..plus there isn’t much anymore

    LOP again

For sure Dan the high speeds are nice and there if needed but for life longevity of our engines they appear to like LOP along with cool CHTs, it took a year or so to rid myself of flying my Bravo, which I loved, love Lycomings just the efficiency isn’t there vs acclaim. Also had LR tanks in Bravo which made up for higher fuel use. I’ve been concerned about cool to cold CHTs but now believe that’s the best thing, seems out of sorts seeing 270;CHT vs 370 … D
  18. Upon landing at KGPT on Friday I couldn’t latch the door closed from outside? Could from inside but I needed to get out, I eventually forced the door latch closed by starting it with a little help from folding the inside handle open a little and closed the door while using all my might to close the latch, hopefully it will close from inside for my trip home.. What’s up? D
  19. Exactly my setup, easy using old ram mounts

    LOP again

    About 188, dropped to 177-179 when I went to 13.8 GPH D

    LOP again

Another accolade for the versatile flight profiles of our Acclaims.very similar to Kmillers post above. I left Wilmington De for a trip to Gulfport Ms with an intended stop at Moton Field for fuel. Also LOP. I have no clue how lean I WAS since I always lean towards a fuel flow, so after take off and a slight tailwind and at 12,000 ft for my passenger’s comfort I was flying at 30.5/2450 16.1 gph TIT 1560 CHT 265-300 it appeared I may make my trip without the stop. Went to 28/2450 13.8 GPH TIT 1560 still cool CHTs. Made the 1000 miles in 4.4 hours 20 gallons left in tank. Awesome versatile machine as mentioned no clue how LOP I was. When I adjust my mixture I go swiftly to 15 Gph and adjust to attain TIT and never worry about CHTs even wonder if there to cool. Couldnt make the trip in my Bravo I calculated my fuel savings over the Bravo to approximate $140 and saved about 45 minutes in flight, roughly 18 Gph vs 14. Gotta love our versatility. D
  22. Obviously your on a Mooney forum asking if it’d be a good plane, first off questions answer is no it’d be a great plane. I went from a Piper Cherokee to two J models then a Bravo and now an Acclaim. Your choice should be your mission, I hate that word, or your intended use. Speed efficiency or both. As far as comfort in my opinion I’m very comfy in mine and was in all my others. A 201 is a great trade of speed vs efficiency. Your 235 hauled quite a load albeit on a lot of fuel and minimal speed. A 201 should give you 150-158 Knots at say 10gph, if you need a turbo you’ve got the premium Encore up to an Acclaim. You’ll get a lot of real world opinions here remembering we’re bias toward our brand. Good luck and enjoy the hunt for your plane. D
  23. Things keep getting out of control, I replaced the MFD in my Bravo about 5-6 years ago and the cost was under $1500, my avionics man told me the cost was going up to $2000 in a week or so back then. It appears they raise the cost $500;every year or so. Also the replacement was a new unit.
