  1. I recently discovered that the hours on the tach have stopped working. I really don't want to go through the expense of buying a new one, so I was wondering if there are any shops out there that specialize in a repair of this type.
  2. When the GI 275 was installed the shop built a shelf in the tail for the magnetometer but we could never get an accurate calibration. We eventually had it moved to the right wing and now it's spot on.
  3. Boca del Vista, Phase II
  4. Reminds me of the story from 2019 where Uber will have flying taxis in service by 2023.
  5. Talk about topic creep…
  6. That answers that.
  7. Anybody notice the elevator is set for nose down?
  8. Probably rattled. According to FlightAware, he came down from 11,600 feet to 1,600 in four minutes and the weather at the destination looked dicey at the time.
  9. That was an incident from 2021. This one occurred a few weeks ago, on June 1st.
  10. I came across this today at KIMM during a fuel stop.
  11. 3 degrees at 150kts is not insignificant.
  12. Interestingly, my JPI probe and Garmin are two degrees off when I take a reading in a closed hangar with static air with no sunlight. When I quizzed others on MS about that, the response fro more than once was that the Garmin accounts for ram rise in its design. Even when I adjust the JPI display to match the Garmin, they eventually don’t agree in flight.
  13. Are buffalo burgers still on the menu there?
  14. The reason I asked in the first place was whether to put the cover on when I drop her off.
  15. When not being worked on, is the plane parked outside or is it always in the hangar?
  16. Interesting you mentioned that. Mine was originally mounted in the tail, on a specially made shelf, and it just wouldn't calibrate properly. I finally threw in the towel and paid for it to be placed in the right wing, where the reading is now dead-on.
  17. My plane is on Edison's schedule for the middle of August. Just a ten minute hop for me.
  18. Amen brother.
  19. My partners and I opted to purchase the full relay pack because none of us had the knowledge nor the skill level to replace just a single relay, and based on comments here on MS, the forty year old relay is no longer available. I was lucky enough to find one on the shelf at a local MSC.
  20. I had the identical problem and it too turned out to be the relay. Where were you able to find a relay pack? The factory back in December was quoting a seven month lead time.
  21. Glad your hunny is doing well. Although I wrote very briefly about it back in January when it happened, I too fell off the wing. While deplaning I missed the step and fell flat on my back. My immediate reaction was to move my legs around and flex my hips, which were fine. The incident resulted in immediate spasm of all my lower back muscles, which eventually cleared up about four weeks later, but not without considerable discomfort. I have a friend who is an orthopedic surgeon and I visited him to get everything checked out. Only through the grace of God did I not break something, especially since I have severe osteoporosis (T -2.5). As for insurance, last month I learned the hard way that it is a necessity. Exactly 24 hours before my wife and I were to depart for a week in St Maarten, I got a call that my 93 year old dad was in the hospital. American Airlines wasn't terribly sympathetic to my woes. Lesson learned and for now on I will purchase coverage for the non-refundable portions of trips, which isn't terribly expensive.
  22. The luncheons are a lot of fun. The experience of the owners who attend will be enough to answer any and all questions that you may have.
  23. I don't mind flying at Cessna speeds as long as I know I can get out.
