  1. Some of the custom panels that people are making and installing are tilted out at the top, others are not. The ones at that have the top spaced out has more depth above the yoke due to the closer to 90deg angle that the yoke and panel intersect at.
  2. I had a similar problem. It seems like when you 1st insure a plane they have no problem selling you whatever coverage you want but they are not so eager to increase your coverage at a later date. I had my F insured for $35,000. After overhauling the engine, JPI 830, new panel, radios, ifr gps, 1 pc belly, and many more improvements I asked them to increase it to $65,000. They refused. I had supplied all the labor for all the work, so I did not have easy receipts to give them. My agent helped out a lot with the back and fourth stuff and in the end they finally agreed to accept the value shown by Jimmy Garrisons online appraisal tool on Phil's website and gave me the coverage I wanted. I also had a problem getting the coverage increased on a cessna 150 a few years ago after buying 4 new cylinders to go on it. I was wanting to increase the coverage from $16000 to $19000. They were very hesitant to do it. I sold it a year later and the new owner insured it for $25,000 with no questions asked.
  3. Does your audio panel have its own breaker?
  4. Looks like it got to get off the ground one last time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  5. The King KY 196A I installed draws 5 amps at 28 vdc per the install manual durring transmitt. That would be a 10.5 amp load on the 14 volt side of the converter. I used RG 400 and put the antenna on the bottom side. I have not noticed any problems.
  6. We will probably leave around 6:00. Have you thought about camping Saturday night? There is usually a night airshow that is pretty good.
  7. 100,000 hrs, sounds good enough to me. Its a back up com.
  8. I just wander if he had any idea of the history of the plane. It sounds to me from what I've read that although he was drinking, the plane was having mechanical problems.

  10. Its the "Ultimate Mooney" that we discussed a few times on here. Looks like Jerry finally sold it. I'm guessing he may be about to get a lot more attention than he wants.
  11. Make sure you don't have any apps running in the background. If you do close them.
  12. I had also played around with the idea of letting the line go forward more after it left the transducer and then make a 180 in it and come back into the fuel servo body with a 90 on the end of the hose into the servo body.
  13. This Brittain wing leveler valve replaces the pneumatic valve found on older planes with a electric valve which can be operated with a switch. $100 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  14. SOLD.This is a set of copilot brakes for a Mooney. It includes the pedals, master cylinders and a copy of the Mooney install drawings. The necessary plumbing and fastener can be purchased from Spruce or other aircraft supply house. $550 PM me if interested. Contrary to what someone has posted in a different thread there no anti return valves to install per the factory approved drawings and instructions are included. I installed a set of these in my plane last year. It was about 2 afternoons work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  15. That's not true. They transmitt between 16-20 watts. The 12 volt models will transmitt either 5 or 10 watts. I looked at the output on mine on the spect anlyzer before installing. A 20 watt radio will draw around 140 watts of power
  16. We were planning on leaving Elba early Saturday morning and then fly back Sunday.

  18. Here are a couple of pictures. We used large Adel Clamps and some fabricated steel brackets. I've been keeping an eye on it and haven't noticed any problems. Its reading correctly.
  19. On my I0 360 injected I put it between the intake pipes and sump directly under the cylinders. I didn't think it was the best place for it, but given the JPI stipulations, their isn't many choices.
  20. I think that's the original paramount part number. Many of them have been swapped out with the newer cleveland or gerdes pn. If its still the paramount it will be painted black and round. If it is the cleveland or gerdes it will be gold in color and be oblonged shaped with a flat side. Dan at lasar told no parts were available for the paramont other than o-rings. The cleveland/gerdes have parts or new cylinders available for them. I have an extra Paramount if your is not rebuildable.
  21. Yes, I was using needle nose trying to close it up about .005. It was at about .023, all the others were at .018. It snapped off. I've done others before and never had a problem. It was a new plug and still sealed up. It was the only one of the group that wasn't correct from the factory. It didn't really move any, just snapped.
  22. The factory side cheeks are still on it, so its not a complete cowl replacement. It looks like the SWTA, but I've never saw one with the round air inlet like that.
  23. I used to help a friend with his circle track car every weekend. We always used sonoco fuel. We were using SB Chevy's with almost 13:1 compression. Some of the racing fuel has lead also. http://www.racegas.com/
  24. I didn't think it was worth $50 either, But thought it was a pretty good deal when I felt the fine wire snap off. However it does work well. It has a small square groove milled in the end of it that fits over the fine wire. It gives you a easy way to grab the wire and tweek it a little. If they are bent very much they will snap off. I'll post a pic of it next time I'm at the hanger
  25. They will break very easily so be careful. I found out the hard way only trying to tweek one a little. After that I got the Champion tool, it works fine on the Tempest plugs. Its a little expensive, but cheaper than a new plug.
