  1. You can glue flat tinnerman nuts to the back of the plastic. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/tinnerman.php
  2. I try to remember to measure them next time I at the hanger. The one with the carpet lip would be nice.
  3. http://www.mcfarlane-aviation.com/Products/?ID=94830059&PartNumber=STE101&
  4. Mcfarland can duplicate any cable you supply them as a owner produced part.
  5. I'm interested also. The best price I have saw online is $549 for the traffic watch + and $347 for the antenna. I had e-mailed Monroy with some questions. Would anyone else be interested in a group buy if they will discount this price more?
  6. Unfortunately they will not longer approve any landing lighting. It has to have a STC.
  7. Its STC'd for the Mooneys, so it would be easy.
  8. There is also a HID option and the Stan Portal H3 autolight bulb stc.
  9. I put one on my 67 F last summer. Most of the time was spent forming, fitting and mounting the aluminum lines. I also have a extra set if anyone is interested.
  10. Many mechanics don't consider replacing one TSO part with another part with the same TSO to be a major change
  11. Mcfarland sells several profiles of seat railing cut to length.
  12. If its a field approval on a 337 the FAA has to approve it. If its a STC or other manufacture approved mod on a 337 then the FAA does not have to approve it because they have already approved it. The key is that you have to have approved data if your IA considers it a major change.
  13. Did you top or bottom mount the antenna? Assuming you bottom mounted it, does it do a good job showing targets above you?
  14. There was also another incident on here about a year ago where someone reported a small bird strike that left a small dent in the tail. The FAA showed up and the plane was grounded until Mooney blessed the plane as being airworthy.
  15. Yes it works great. I would just perfer to know what the updates consist of and then make a informed decision as to if I want to perform the update or not. All it would take is a few release notes to accomplish this.
  16. I agree completely. I updated to the newest version in December and when I looked 2 weeks ago I was 4 versions behind. Sometimes the changes are obvious, other times they are behind the scenes.
  17. My 67 F has reclining split rear seats. There is a spring loaded pin on the outside corner of each seat that you pull and the seat back and seatbelts just lifts out.
  18. Correct, I wasn't thinking. I'll edit the original post. As long as these units have been out, It's hard to believe someone else hasn't already ask for the change.
  19. I had recently emailed JPI and asked them to consider adding a programmable restricted Yellow band on their tach display on their 730/830 series engine monitors. On my model this would coincide with the 2100 to 2350 restricted rpm band. The reply was "Sorry, not at this time". I would like to encourage anyone who owns one of these products or plans to buy one to also e-mail them with the same request. Also for those going to Sun-In-Fun stop by their booth and ask in person. If enough people ask they might add it. support at jpitech dot com
  20. Several people on here have used them before and posted positive results.
  21. Another often overlooked W&B item is the Bendix to Slick change out. It often happens at engine overhaul and is simply not thought about. That and the shock will give you about 5 lbs.
  22. No one volunteered the drawing so I e-mailed Stacey and he replied in less than 3 minutes with the drawing. Hows that for service? I've attached it here for anyone who needs it. You also get to reclaim a little over 2 lbs on your W&B Shock Removal.pdf
  23. I've tried using a locknut before and on my window it will prevent it from folding all the way down. Go to mcmaster.com and search for binding post.
  24. Here is the JPI DATA from my break in flight. It was the 1st time the engine had been cranked other than a few minutes the day before to make sure there was no leaks. I think the OAT was around 60 that day. Now at almost 25 hrs my temps and a OAT of 80 this weekend it was still below 320. This on a F model that isn't supposed to cool as well as a J. I have the Centri-Lub cam and ECI Moly rings, which may or may not be helping any. I'm not sure what the lycoming ring construction is. The only other other cylinders I've ever broken in were ECI's on a Cessna 150. I also saw a very pronounced temp drop in the 1st 30 to 45 minutes.
  25. Both the engines that I have broken in have had noticeable CHT drops in the 1st hr of operation. It was on the order of 40deg or so. Both these was field overhauls and with only a quick runup to check everything out and check for leaks. After cool down and a good looking over they were cranked up and immediately flow. I suspect the reason you are not seeing the temp drop is because it occurred in the test cell at the overhauler.
