  1. That is the symptoms of air in the system, and the valve isn't adjusted.
  2. I'm one of the many in hope of an autopilot. I'm currently in the works of installing the full dual screen Dynon system with all the add ons. Take away the autopilot, the HDX system for me is a huge upgrade in function and information. I didn't want Garmin for personal reasons, and they cut my year (62C) off for an autopilot which solidified that option anyways. I have more into my plane than I can get probably get for it, but its my hobby/toy/hotrod. The fact that an owner can play a huge part in an install lowering cost over Big G makes it more attainable. I still want an autopilot, and would put a deposit down to show seriousness. I have no other choices, and might as well stand behind my only option
  3. I’d be interested in seeing the certification criteria these companies are being subject to by the FAA. I can’t help but feel the FAA was advertising lightening up the certification criteria to enhance safety in older aircraft, while at the same time requiring so much data and testing as it becomes financially unreasonable for a company to provide an affordable system, therefore no liability on the Faa. The whole concept of a servo that moves the flight control driven by some navigational guidance, just doesn’t seem all that complicated. It’s simply doing the same thing the knucklehead behind the yoke would do, only with better attention and higher precision.
  4. I gave up on TT/BK, GFC is out of the question. I pulled the trigger on a full Dynon HDX dual screen set up, and will just enjoy it until an autopilot come available from them to add on. The more videos I watch of the HDX, the more excited i get about it !
  5. Yes ! I did today, and passed it along to several others not on here. We can hope it works
  6. I’m switching gears towards a Dynon HDX system. I’m not much of a gambler, but I’d bet on Dynon getting an autopilot to market before TT/BK. TruTrak before the merger maybe, but with BK anywhere in the loop, I don’t know.
  7. That will get your attention ! Find it before it happens again
  8. I am curious if anyone has a GFC500 with an Avidyne navigator? I'd like to know what the realworld limitations are not using a G navigator?
  9. Unfortunately it sounds as if the BK is THE only option for my 62C. Garmin just told me.. "I can put in a request for a specific exception, but the certification team only makes these kind of caveats with more than sufficient scientific justification, and your airframe just isn't going to meet those requirements" I never would have thouhgt the Early C's were so different from the laters for certification purposes
  10. The E5 does not require a backup per the STC. I have no idea why, but it doesn't. If i upgraded to the Max, I would have to install a backup. My SL30 feeds the Garmin indicator, the IFD feeds the Aspen E5 GPS or VHF nav data. I like it. My plan was to add an AV20 as a non-certified 'backup', since its not required anyways.
  11. Right to left, Carb heat, Cabin air, cabin heat, parking brake.
  12. I made my JPI900 fit on the top of the radio stack, not much else fits there...
  13. Wow. Sorry to hear your bad experience right out of the box. I had a few issues with my 440 I bought used, under warranty and have had nothing but great customer service troubleshooting it down to a bad plug on the used Garmin rack that my 440 came with. I hope they can redeem their reputation with you. Its a great unit
  14. Hmm. Sell squares on a pool. Year and month?
  15. I got word back on an inquiry to BK. We shall see " Mooney approval is scheduled for late Q1 2021 ".
  16. I just replaced my first Gill sealed after 5 years (in TX) with another Gill. My Concorde lasted 4 , and the previous that was installed when I bought plane was in it for 3 . With the jump in cost of Concordes, my supplier said they had good results with the Gills, so I tried it. No complaints
  17. You are correct I suspect a good lawyer will have a jury convinced the controllers are cold blooded murderers
  18. I agree with Bolter, this seems as a diversion tactic to shift the blame. He screwed up, end of story. The pilot is ultimately responsible for the flight no matter what, but when he crashes now its someone else fault ?
  19. That's an odd one
  20. The rears are next on my list ! I had a similar idea but hadn't got to work on it yet. Thanks for the pics. AC43.13 covers this install for belt installs, basic design, and function, similar to the front, No cutting or welding. You wont get a field approval (at least in the south) nor an STC. I've tried on other aircraft before. Its amazing how hard the FAA has made it improve the safety of older designs. AC 43.13, and sign it off as minor alteration.
  21. I've had the CYA100 for several years, its easy to install, basically a phone cable that goes from the vane to indicator, and a power wire. I also wired the audio output of AOA into the audio panel, there's no missing that noise if the flashing red doesn't get your attention. Its small and fits anywhere. I parked it next to the airspeed.
  22. At least when TT was still in the driver seat, Andrew was very involved in the forums/social media. These BK guys seem to just keep posting new stuff their rebranding, but zero human response pertaining to the peeps in limbo and suspense.
