  1. 80 hours should be more than sufficient
  2. How many hours on the engine ? The counterweights may need a bit of time to sit then dynamic balancing
  3. Two STCs , I don’t see an incompatibility but need to ask the installing shop if it sees one G5 provides AHRS redundancy as well although not automatic . I have seen the thread on 2 GI275 going blank, and prefer to have two truly independent systems
  4. useful to have on long XCountry and altitude They all work well The issue with all these nice to have items (handheld radio, oximeter,... ) is to make sure the battery is not dead when you need it
  5. The prop CG is not 5 in for the CG of the previous prop , you could tell if it was
  6. It found a taker
  7. It found a home
  8. yellowed with time but free if you are missing one pm me if you want it
  9. Then what is included in the annual inspection base ? each time a screw or bolt has to be removed there need to be a work order ?
  10. why does a G5 battery capacity test, which takes literally 1 (one) mn as per the Garmin ICA manual, is charged 0.5 hours ? the software update is not a mandated/airworthiness item.
  11. I would have refused a lot of the recommended actions … changing a seal should not be $100 ADs just pop up … $100 a pop
  12. They actually did a good job documenting the items requested by the customer , recommended or airworthiness the operator has to keep on check if that’s the case , that he is operating as part 91 and most items are on conditions , including the prop and hoses
  13. 14 CFR 43 Appendix D paragraph (d)(3) I would have thought it would have been a big oversight if it was not there.
  14. It indirectly is …. Unless someone shows me how the oil screen or filter can be inspected without draining the oil. Of course, you can always reuse the oil
  15. What cost $4500 each time ?
  16. I am in the Bay Area and don’t pay as much . Not even close . 25 hours is about right for an inspection ( open and close of panels, compression , gear , etc..) of course , an inspection is an inspection so in theory not even and oil change but in practical , best to add the oil change and filter change … another $100 with the filter ? teflon hoses are on conditions and do get stiff, harden and built a shape over time. Any A&P should know that. rest … no comment without the list of items
  17. Not sure I would cover the alternator hole or seal the starter gap . The gap left by removing the ram air should have been filled
  18. #3 is normally the hottest. if your #3 is in the 350-380 range .... others are colder your #4 T probe may be off (switch them to check that)
  19. Wonder what the performance benefit really is makes the plane look sexier but on the other hand more concern for clearance getting in and out a hangar
  20. just a pair of strobes can get to 1amu , anyone know how much the whole wingtip cost ?
  21. Making sure the right placards are in place and POH updated when work is done is always a requirement. Even if when only a logbook entry is done. say for example a change is made that does not require a 337 but does require a weight and balance recalculated (like simple move an item in the cone avionics rack) It would only require a logbook entry but also a change in the POH .
  22. The POH should reflect the limitations of the prop installed (per the STC if a prop was installed based on an STC) it would be wrong if they are using a generic POH downloaded from the internet
  23. I would not be surprised if what broke was the axel around which that ram air butterfly turns. Not a difficult part to replace. Does the SI gives instruction on how to disactivate the RAM air annunciator when you remove it ? remove the annunciator or just remove the bulb ?
  24. oil mist ..... probably getting close to prop overhaul or reseal time
  25. You must have HTAWS activated in the terrain page check the GNS display guide addendum
