  1. That kind you guys for the responses. I am going to go look at the 2 c's this weekend. Seth that review was awesome and I did get your pm and just left you a message. I know this has been said before, but the people on this site are awesome. Everyone is so willing to help even the newest members. Thanks Steve
  2. I am going to look at 2 mooneys that are located at freeway airport in MD. One of them has been serviced by the MSC there, I am not sure about the other one. Does anyone have experience with them? If I do buy one I want the pre buy/ annual to be done by a certified mooney mechanic. I know that you usually don't want the same guy that had been doing the annuals to do a pre buy, so I'm not sure how to handle that. Any suggestions?
  3. Thanks for the response. I think I am going to keep looking.
  4. I am looking at buying my first plane. I have mainly been looking at the c and e models. The other day I came across this j on trade a plane. https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Single+Engine+Piston&make=MOONEY&model=M20J+201&listing_id=1589603&s-type=aircraft. The paint looks to faded but not chipped up. the interior looks to be in decent shape. I know that I could get a better equipped c/e for that price but I like the idea of the extra room. What type of thing should I look for on the j as far as trouble areas? I know corrosion is probably one of the biggest still. Thanks. Steve
  5. To better answer the height question I have a 30 inseam. I am also long in the torso. In a 172n I have to put the seat as low as it will go to be comfortable.
  6. Thank you everyone for the quick responses. I am 5'10. I know most of my time will be with maybe one other person. The other times will probably be my parents and my mom is only 5' so it should be fine.
  7. Gsxrpilot. You are absolutely right. I will not be using the back seat personally but it's still nice to be comfortable that way I don't listen to complaining. Haha. I want to travel which is why I like the mooney, it seems to be the best speed and fuel burn combination.
  8. Hello. This is my first time posting on here so I wanted to say hello. A little bit about me, I am a new pilot with 60 hours. I will be getting my complex rating in a few weeks. I have always liked the looks of the mooney. My current instructor is not a mooney fan and has tried to steer me more towards the arrows. He claims that the back seat is very uncomfortable in the mooney. This is where I need the help. I have never sat let alone flown in one. Is there anyone in the Charlotte area that would let me come look and sit in theirs? Thanks Steve
