  1. Knowing the passion, character (Toys For Tots, children, scouting, and veteran events, etc.), and commitment of Mitch and Jolie (flying to Kerville on their own dime to document the company), and the sacrifices they have made (sorry, not enough bandwith on this server to give them adequate credit), I must assume that anyone who questions their intentions is either not very active in the Mooney community or has alternative motives.
  2. I recently went on vacation and forgot the Sony camcorder I normally use to film landings. I am very serious about quality, as I burn my flight videos to bluray. Well, I went to the store and picked up a GoPro Hero2, to supplement the Canon XT3i, which shoots professonal quality video, and was really impressed. It gives off the annoying prop effect, but the clarity when in 1080p mode is great. When/if the Hero3 comes up, I"ll probably upgrade and put it for sale on MooneySpace.
  3. Flight Control app/game for the iPad is fun.
  4. Sorry Allsmiles, Mooneyspace is wiggin' out.
  5. This is a mandatory event for everyone in the Western States. See you all there!
  6. How far under gross were you? How many passengers? Going there myself, as you know.
  7. I believe that antenna is for a handheld radio, but I'm not sure. I was thinking of having it removed at annual.
  8. As the attached photo illustrates, Mooneys have been landing with their speed brakes extended since the Civil War.
  9. Yeah, but don't I look cool? My approach was screwed up by a Ceasna that couldn't get the lead out. I actually found this photo online and didn't know it was taken at the time.
  10. I'd like to add headrests to my rear seats when I re-do them, but apparently that might be difficult to do. Has anyone done this to an early 80's Mooney with the removable rear seats and how?
  11. On my 1978 m20j, it is on the right side, behind the cb's stuffed behind the side panel. Lee
  12. For sale is my iPad 2, 32 GB Wifi. Excellent condition save a few small scratches on the corners where the yoke cover was attached. $415 Shipped in original box with all accessories.
  13. What do you think guys. Would it be a good idea for him to spray some Corrosion X in there, or would that gunk thinks up (i.e. make an eventual mess)?
  14. Quote: aviatoreb I like the salad in the picture. Like that is going to help....
  15. Thanks aerobat95, wish I was in Kansas. Looks awesome and the wife is making steaks so I'm experiencing your post in "Smell-A-Vision." Here are the links: http://www.airportsteakhouse.com/ http://www.cosmo.org/
  16. Quote: Mitch Hey, what's the useful load of that Mooney? You're maybe one burp away from being over gross!!!
  17. Here are the rules: 1. You must post a photo (this is our equivalent of the Food Network). 2. Brief discription of the item, which does not have to be a hamburger. 3. State location and airport you flew into. 4. Link to restaurant, if possible. Example: This weekend, the wife and I flew to Henderson, Nevada (KHND, our favored G.A. airport near Las Vegas), and ate at the nearby M Resort. The M has one of the best buffets in Vegas, which we ate at upon arriving. The great thing about having a Mooney, is you can work a full day and still fly to Vegas for dinner; from SoCal. Leaving the next day, we decided to eat at the Hash House A Go Go, also at the M, which is known for their, "Twisted Farm Food." We decided to split one of their famous one pound stuffed burgers, the apple smoked bacon and mashed potato. My expectations were low, but it was surprisingly good and I'd be inclined to order it again sometime. http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/vegas/index.html
  18. There's a nice article on the M20J in this March's Flying magazine. I cringed at the interior shot example with its blue velour seats, but the rest of the article is nicely done.
  19. I was pushing the plane back yesterday (tow bar and hand on cowl), and heard a gurgling sound. I had just flown and the plane was hot. Was that oil?
  20. If you then use a different color of the same material, so you have to burn cert it again? Also, what is an inexpensive place to have it done?
  21. Not sure...just found it, while looking to have a placard done.
