  1. Looks awesome Jeev! Let me know when you finally do that flight to Big Bear.
  2. What would the LED replacement be, I wonder.
  3. Maybe we should turn our planes into tailwheels, 'cause tricycle gear is obviously a crutch. Speed brakes allow you to go faster, for longer into your descent, and I'm pretty sure fast is a major reason we fly Mooneys. Long, easy, descents from 40 miles out are for Cessnas.
  4. I have the usual H3R, but I was thinking of switching to chrome: http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=6279&sc=3364
  5. Right, so I had 2008-14-07 done at annual, so I'm okay.
  6. So do you have to have it done by January 25th?
  7. Hi, I'm looking to do a couple approaches, to retain curruency, while I'm visiting Henderson. Can anyone recommend a CFI in Vegas/Henderson? Thanks!
  8. I want to make sure I'm not putting the prop full-forward too soon when I land. Can I have some feedback on when you put the prop full-forward. I'm full-forward by mid-field downwind. If it's straight in at a toward field, I would say at 4-5 miles out. I don't want to overspeed anything, so I'm interested in how people fly.
  9. I'd really like to do the Corrosion X treatment, but what is the equipment you need to be able to atomize (i.e. not just spray with a can)? Is the least expensive option the Handi-Spray at $449?
  10. 20" Dahon Giant goes through the front door.
  11. Dahon Giant Half-Way, 20" Wheel will take a standard tube, Shimano components, and comes with a carrying bag. It's 29 pounds.
  12. RE: Posing without her covers: Vicki: "Well...anything for charity...and if its integral to the plot and in no way gratuitous."
  13. I loose gps signal by placing the GNS 5870 on the dash. I have, also tried on the ceiling with better results, but I still can't trust it entirely. Has anyone had any luck with a particular placement?
  14. No, I don't have a cover problem...
  15. Does anyone change their takeoff flaps for higher density altitude situations? I've always used partial flaps, as I did today at Big Bear.
  16. By positive pressure, do you mean keep cranking until it has clearly started?
  17. I am stunned that we are seeing a plane with its original biscuits. This has got to be some kind of record, but a bad one at that. We should all take a pause, as this is something that we will never see again. (Pause.................). Okay, you may resume your previous discussion. I agree with those that say it is a sign of collosal neglect.
  18. I was thinking we should start a list of Mooney CFIs, possibly separated by state? It could have their information, experience, and contact info. What do y'all think?
  19. On a side note, I talked to Aspen about adding altitude pre-select and what a killer app that would be, but apparently there are difficulties in making the feature compatible with the KFC-150. What difficulties, I have no idea, but apparently they've at least thought about it (and it is easier to do with other autopilots).
  20. Thanks so much for the updates! Wish it was held during a time I could go.
  21. Any updates on what's going on at MAPA Homecoming? Any new news on Mooney's situation or new products from vendors?
  22. It would be cool if the app had a performance calculator and a copy of the POH...
  23. Why not just get one so small it fits in the yoke hub? Heck, maybe you could just mount an ipod Nano there. I use an iPad 2, but would love a 7" if they ever make one.
  24. Ended up going to the Apple Valley Air Show and displaying. It's funny, but we only found out about it yesterday. We had been in past years, and weren't that impressed, but it's grown into a legitimate show with warbirds and a performance by Mike Mangold. We show at a lot of air shows, but I was still surprised at the level of enthusiasm for the 201. We were placed in one of the best locations on the field, so that's probably why we had so much traffic (and we were the only Mooney). A legion of cadets marched with us as we taxied, and one stayed with us, standing at attention by the plane. I have never had so many families, and potential pilots, posing for photos in front of our plane. One deluded individual even said we had the best looking bird at the show, but that really wasn't true (there was a beautiful polished Lockheed). Anyway, just thought I'd let y'all know that a lot of people think Mooney's are pretty cool.
  25. FYI folks: Apple Valley Airport is having an airshow. Airspace closes at 9 a.m. if you want to come.
