  1. That landing at 2:29 (on the YouTube video) looks pretty hairy. What were the winds?
  2. I just wasn't sure if the Corrosion X would lift off the anti-corrosion paint (i.e. zinc green chromate) if I applied it directly to the roll cage.
  3. Do you spray Corrosion X onto the cage itself or just against the interior panels? FYI: I'm not saying general information isn't shared, I mean specifically about Corrosion X.
  4. Where exactly do you use Corrosion X inside? Always looking for tips as there doesn't seem to be a lot of knowledge out there that gets shared.
  5. We're thinking of going, but it's going to be a busy summer.
  6. What days are people planning on being there (i.e. at the beginning or at the end)?
  7. You know, the flat black paint used on some spots of the interior, including some visible parts of the roll cage? I was thinking of touching some spots up. Any suggestions?
  8. Sellis, I sure appreciate the offer, but looking through my Mooney Service Manual I can't figure out the number for the Electric Trim rocker switch? Lasar said they were going to call Mooney again last week, but I don't know if they ever did.
  9. There is a small screw (not the word I'm looking for) on the bottom of the yoke, in addition to the large bolt.
  10. Well, I ordered my rocker switch from Lasar in Oct. of 2010 and...I'm still waiting.
  11. Another good use for speedbrakes! HopePilot (The Official Spokesperson for Spreedbrakes)
  12. Mine are there as we speak. How does the return shipping work?
  13. Archiving has, until now, been my only real challenge. I have recently starting burning my flying videos to BluRay due to the amount of space required for shooting HD films. I am also thinking of switching from a traditional HD video camera to a digital SLR that shoots video, such as the Canon Rebel T3i.
  14. I know people are going to say that you can learn to fly in a Mooney, but I'm not sure I could have. I got my license in a Cessna 172, then towards the end of my license I, also, started flying a Mooney M20C (because I knew I wanted to fly a 201 eventually), and then bought a 201 only after I had my instrument rating. This approach required a lot of delayed gratification, but it proved a very sound and methodical approach. If I could do anything differently, I might substitute a low wing Piper (non-complex model, with a closer feel to the Mooney than a Cessna), etc., for the 172 (although G1000 time helped me get insured on the 201 as I had little complex time). I would have hated to have made all those early mistakes on a plane I owned, but that's just me.
  15. I don't get why we don't have someone who can do this in California?
  16. Okay, thanks. Well, I'm not looking for the actual info/equipment, but rather insight into how other people have arranged everything. I'm planning on doing all the hard work, but I haven't even a clue as to how to organize it on a spreadsheet.
  17. Hi all, My bird is going in for its first annual and I'm putting together a list of the ADs and when they were complied with. Has anyone put together such a spreadsheet? Thanks!
  18. Naturally, it depends on your weight, but anything over 70 knots and I will float. I'd say 70 over the fence is probably pretty good (full flaps). Even a couple knots makes a difference in the Mooney.
  19. Whelen Par 46 LED arrived yesterday. Sorry, but there won't be time to test it for a few weeks as I'm about to go into annual. Just an FYI on shipping.
