  1. It seems they are the same.
  2. Historically, in all areas, about 1% of mishaps are unavoidable. So called Acts of God. The rest are the result of unsafe conditions (about 15%) and unsafe actions by people (the rest). The issue is, strangely, there are not enough GA mishaps. If there were more of them, they would not be news, and no one would notice. There are 6 MILLION auto mishaps per year in the US. That is almost 16,500 PER DAY, or 11 per minute. About 100 people die each day in the US in auto accidents, or about 1 every 15 minutes.. How often are there news stories about auto mishaps? Not one every 6 seconds.
  3. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on both of your recoveries.
  4. From the OP, he bought the full cover set as he could not get a hangar. He used it once, and then got a hangar. When he bought the plane, it came with a cockpit cover, that he included with the plane when it was sold. He sold the airplane last summer. So has no need for the cover set now.
  5. I got one of these from here on MS. AWESOME. My hangar also has a lip that makes it hard for one person to get it into the hangar. But even without a lip, it is SO easy to move the airplane in or out. I need to get the bag to carry it when I travel.
  6. Ahh, ok. Makes sense. BTW, do you have the plugs for the vent NACA ducts? I have the cowl plugs and the one for the cowl side, but not the ones for the other vents. YES, LOVING it. And I keep looking to see if another one I would prefer to have is for sale, and so far, I think I got the best one.
  7. Yeap, nothing but a mag compass is fine IFR at night. NOT.
  8. Local FBO is still at $6.32. I bet that the higher prices were last filled a while ago. I know that the price went down to that price with a delivery in August.
  9. Mike Busch recommends replacing the rotator if you have to lap a valve.
  10. I decided to get a custom model of my plane made as a present to my Dad for Christmas. I found Factory Direct Models online. I ordered the model and sent them a series of pictures of my plane. After a while, I got an email with a link to pictures to the actual model for approval. And once I approved it, about 2 weeks later, it showed up. Super well packed to avoid damage. AWESOME. The paint scheme and colors are spot on. They even have the antennas, flap hinges, pitot tube, step, exhaust pipe. And even the McCaully logos on the prop. The model was $395. They also offer to make it with a full cockpit.
  11. WTF?! Those are pictures of MY airplane. At least its mine NOW. You must be Jason. Terry here. My GF says you should just send me the covers for what I paid. Do you actually have the extended cockpit cover? There is a cover in my baggage compartment.
  12. That is what I was seeing. Equipment costs + install costs equal to equipment costs. Or, Total Cost = Equipment Cost x 2
  13. Redline makes several different styles. Standard T handle, L shaped,. 43" long - https://redlineaviation.com/ul-hand-tow-bar/ Others - https://redlineaviation.com/by-aircraft/mooney/
  14. Yeap. 2 seconds with Google - http://www.flugzeuginfo.net/acdata_php/acdata_m20_en.php
  15. There can be a limit for gear in transit coming up. A different speed for gear in transit going down. And one for the gear extended. My M29K 252 has all three. 206 KIAS for gear coming up. 140 KIAS for gear going down. And 165 KIAS for gear down.
  16. There may be a small spark when you first make contact. But the fuel flowing through the hose will also generate a charge for later.
  17. But there is also no way to guarantee that you WILL touch the metal. And if you don't, while pumping, you can get a spark.
  18. Nope. Don't notice them at all.
  19. But giving it to them while you are alive, you can enjoy their enjoyment of the gift.
  20. This is for rental insurance. Not what I need to carry on MY plane
  21. Any comparisons between Muncey and Rosen visors?
  22. Yes, I did see that. I am not sure what the price was back when I got my set. I am trying to remember when I got it. Maybe late 80s, early 90s.
  23. I prefer to look out the window also. Until there is nothing to see out there except the inside of a cloud or darkness. When shopping what to do, I got quotes for 4 shops. Add G3X with EIS, 10 inch only. Add GFC500 with Yaw. Add new Audio Panel (Garmin or PS). All of them came in about $50K - $55K And I already had the GTN650, G5, and GTX345. Adding the GTN750Xi and the second 7 inch screen is about $25K in hardware, plus install. And it seems that install these days is about the same as the hardware price. So, I am estimating a bit over $100K to take my plane to that panel. Hmm, what is the lottery up to now?????
  24. From the book with Faces. My Dream Panel
  25. I put in the Alpha inertia reel for both front seats in a K that already had shoulder harnesses. They had an Oshkosh sale, so that pair was just over 1.1 AMU, and install was charged 3 hours, but they were doing some other work, so not sure if that was all for the harnesses.
