Thanks for the feedback, I removed it and also, cleaned up the transponder connection with electro cleaner. After removing all the other antennas on the belly, I feel like I'm going at least Mach 2 now. But there is one more in question--

Not to directly quote you but is the Avidyne a direct slide-in replacement for a Garmin 430w? No tray exchange or change in wiring? If that is true you’ve got my attention. -

After removing and reinstalling my Stratus Transponder and checking all the connections, then powering it back on it show a Press ALT -100ft so, I’m guessing it is getting altitude from somewhere. The mode c serializer doesn’t have a static port… Does anyone know how this thing works or is it connected to something else that gives it the altitude????

Yesterday flying back to the airport ATC asked me to reset my transponder and swak altitude. I did then ATC said that i popped up and when away again. I was on short final doing this so I proceeded to land and that's where im at now.

I don't think i have a altitude encoder. Maybe I do... Does the Status get is altitude direct from the encoder? Can the transponder get its altitude from somewhere else?

I’m looking for some suggestions as to why my Stratus Transponder is not transmitting my altitude to ATC. Actually it probably isn’t receiving pressure altitude data anymore. I’ve never had this issue before I did my panel refit. Where does a Stratus get is pressure altitude from? Before show Press ALT & After show flight ID and my tail #

For the interim “3M double stick tape” for the wedge to panel and “3M Durolock” for the iPad to wedge. If I like it then maybe I will bolt on the wedge but I plan on putting in a G3X on the pilot side and moving my AV30’s to the Co-pilot side so, I don’t want to punch hole in the panel yet.

Quick question on the MT 3 blade on a M20J 201, does it remove the yellow arc (Vibration Range)?
