  1. The guy that did mine said that as little as uneven torquing on the bolts could change the balance or if the spinner was 180 out would throw it off.
  2. Copy that… thanks!!!
  3. Actually yes, just few up to Halloween Horror nights in Orlando… LOL
  4. Found more info:
  5. Aircraft Spruce vs Chief Aircraft Looks like a lot of different compatibilities @carusoam@M20Doc
  6. Well it looks like a Tempest FP is only around $350 so I figured I go that route but some other part numbers around $600+
  7. Looking for some help regarding witch engine drive fuel pump part number is correct. I've found a few that seem to to have the same specs but 100% sure on which one. IO-360-A3B6D 1977 "J" @PT20J@carusoam
  8. I'll post the next memo sent out by Dave & Ruth
  9. Maybe I’ll put some Heineken zero on a tap.
  10. Well I've started focusing on my hanger more than on my plane lately. I came across this on OfferUp and just couldn't pass it up. So, the Hanger Pub is born but still in the incipient stage. I have much more to do. One being establishing rules like: 8 Hours Bottle to Throttle! and as far a I know you can't purchase a STC to shorten that time. LOL No this is not going to be an actual licensed PUB unfortunately. Maybe one day at a different hanger. This will be more for days like yesterday's fight that well deserved a beer upon landing or when you strip the head of that soft stainless steal screw. Of course the occasional Hanger BBQ when it cools off.
  11. @A64Pilot ‘But modern balancers can do much better, but it’s not just the engine, it’s avionics that last much longer not being shook to death and even the airframe itself, fewer “working” rivets etc. Agreed... I think this will become an annual thing for me. I might actually go ahead an buy a DynaVibe for the next time. I have a few people that would love to have access to one for a nominal donation. Its a pretty simple procedure now with the new tech spitting out the solutions.
  12. I got my prop dynamically balanced yesterday by Aircraft Propeller Works who met me at KORL on a Sunday morning. Very nice guy and with a few run ups and some weight got it from .33 down to .04 and I can't complain with that number. Most peoples first question seems to be "Well can you feel a difference?" my answer to that is yes but it is not a dramatic difference, just a noticeable one. Maybe just a placebo... The real difference is piece of mind that I know where I stand now and that I'm not causing excessive wear on my engine internals.
  13. @PilotX @ArtVandelay Email Dave & Ruth to add you to the monthly notifications. daveanruth@aol.com
  14. Tach Time just hit 4001 on Saturday. It was just inspected in July 2021 as well.
  15. FYI: Put on by Dave & Ruth Our next event is this Saturday, September 10, at Pyper Kub Cafe at Williston (X60). Fuel price yesterday was $4.81 self serve. All events start at 11:30.
  16. Noted, thanks for sharing the Service Bulletin. I was aware of some leeway but not that much, good to know. Me being me will want to go through the torture of getting it exact because what else would I do with my time.
  17. What crazy bent flat head screwdriver or miniature hanger elf do you use to adjust the stop screw on the governor? The lock not doesn't seam hard but the clearance for the screw is tight. My RPM currently will go to 2750+ if I let it. Part of my per-departure check is to pull the prop back a touch before taking off. I was going to wait to adjust this to when I get a three blade but who knows when that will happen. So... Procedure seams pretty easy: Fly WOT everything forward, reduce RPM until 2699 , land without touching prop, adjust stop screw to close the gap, and go fly again.
  18. Dang it… This sounds like insider betting now. LOL
  19. I would bet my bill fold someone didn't get written permission for this one....
  20. The phone call to Mooney alone would be more harmful "in the sense of wasting someones time" than just engraving a logo on a panel. I own my plane and if I wanted to put a Gulfstream logos embroidered on the seats, I'm not asking.
  21. When they are flying missions you can take a look at the storm data. Pretty cool stuff... https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/recon/
  22. Simple, I sheered one off trying to adjust my seat in a Piper back in flight school. Try flying with you seat not locked into the track, it makes for a fun time. I probably couldn't do it again if I tried but its always in the back of my mine.
  23. I'm looking to go to a new MT 3 blade prop and was wondering... Whats my current prop worth? Best place to sell it "MS"? McCauley 2-Blade B2D34C214-B HPSCAN_2021072316151134_2021-07-23_161600096.pdf
  24. I'm going to look further into this now... I know I have a boost pump and not a "continuous fuel pump", POH says its for Starting, Take Off, & Landing. I tend to use it for any flight under 1000 agl and in moderate turbulence. Only in turbulence because it just makes me feel better. I have to admit though, I do forget to turn it back off sometimes.
  25. @EricJ Cool beans!!!
