Well after putting a little over 80 hours on my plane in two months time I have decided to start the refit projects. Interior, Exterior, Avionics, Motor, 3B Prop etc… So far I’ve installed a JPI 830, two AV-30s, a AV-20 and a LED landing light, that’s about it. I currently have 4 CIES fuel senders, Aerologic Fuel Gauge, GMA345 and a GTR 200B on the self to install on the avionics side of things, for now. I have an appointment in a few weeks for the tank reseal in prep for my paint job in June. I’ve just removed all the old interior seats, fabric, and carpet. Just dropped off the new fabric and seats to the upholster to work his magic. I’ve got a lot of adhesive to remove and prep work before I start the install. I’ll post updates as things progress.

Well, I ended up replacing the battery with the same one that came with the plane when I purchased it. Concorde RG-35AXC. Paid $404 for it, an Airparts was able to get it with in thirty minutes. Not Bad

Slight miscommunication, I don't disagree with you regard humidity is a factor regarding corrosion and South Florida is the worst for it. What I'm saying is there is no way in my hanger a dehumidifier will help the humidity level do to the construction of the T-hanger. You can almost feel the breeze from the inside. It just has too many free flowing air voids. Where as the larger hangers across from me that are setup for A/C and some are even insulated, would probably benefit from a dehumidifier. My best option would be to place one inside the aircraft but that poses other issues form me.

This Saturday the 12th there is a Mooney meet up at Fort Pierce (FPR) at the Tiki in the FBO. I will be flying to St. Pete for my son regatta on Friday but will try to break away Saturday to come meet up. Safe Travels

Well, the hanger elf came in clutch today. He managed to get the missing piece to the the other shelf, change out the Concorde battery and some how grease all 27 zerk fittings. FYI- I’ve got a compressor all ready. LOL!!! I not sold on a dehumidifier in south Florida, sorry. I work on a super yacht and live on my 53’ Hatteras. I am very familiar about corrosion. I do appreciate all the comments!!!

8 Zircs per main gear; I don't believe you ;)

Has anyone run into the nation wide grease shortage like me? I tried to buy some yesterday and was unsuccessful at Airparts in FFL. What GREASE do you guys use? Brand / Type? -
My goal will be to have my own mini Mooney Service Center out of my hanger. At least enough stuff to do an annual. I’m looking for any specialty tools or hard to fine parts I might need to start searching for the long run. I have about every hand tool Snap-On makes from back when i turned wrenches in the marine industry. I’ve seen a couple Mooney specific tools on this forum for sale. One was for checking landing tension i think. Not sure if i should try to find one of those? Not that I’m going to attempt to do it myself but I would like to have one on hand for an A&P.

Well I got lucky faster than I thought, I got a T-Hanger yesterday and tucked the Mooney in for the first time. If your not from South Florida, hangars are like gold down here. Not sure how I got one so fast. Well guys… what do I need and when does the hanger elf show up? I have a plenty of things on the work list. Started with my parts department inventory today- New set of Goodyear Tire & Tubes Brake Discs & Pads Oil, Filters What am I missing? Any essential tools? I have and a plethora of tools, air compressor and parts cleaner I need to move over from my storage unit.

So your saying go with the Concorde RG-35AXC?

Thanks for the link— It looks like the 7243-16 is the sealed battery correct?

Banyan is not that far from me, maybe I can unfold the mysterious “Shadow Dealer”. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello my fellow aviation goo-roos- I’m looking to replace my battery that’s going on four years old now. Since I’m slowly converting over to more electricity power avionics I would feel more comfortable with a fresh high quality battery. What battery would you get if the cost was irrelevant? Part Number would be much appreciated or at least the size. PS: Has anyone been looking at the EarthX Batteries? Damn they are light but unfortunately not certified yet for a Mooney. Unless you know something I don’t.

Great, thanks for the feedback!

Does anyone have picture of their J model fuel sender locations? Mainly the inter sender location. I believe its accessed from the inside of the fuselage, I could be wrong.
-
CONFIRMED- all fixed now. I pulled my cowling off and there it was, stby vacuum valve was wide open with the cable pulled out. Closed the valve and she idle perfect again.

Nice, I'm going to look into it this afternoon. I think the cable is stretched or faulty but I'm going to just have it removed.

WAFI replied to GeneralT001's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Ahh I got it. I know you can get a remote comm but didn’t know there was a remote audio panel. Nice! I like your replacement switches, any chance you know brand or PN? -
Next will be to get rid of ADF, LORAN, OLD COMM, ETC… Add - New GMA 345 Audio Panel and GRT 200B PMA Comm only.

Just curious where’s your audio panel? -
200 rpm and I’m not really sure the source yet. I haven’t looked any further into it yet. Just wondering if it could cause such a thing. Also, I have just removed all my vacuum driven gauges but haven’t removed the vacuum system yet, just plugged the lines for now.

Hose Diameter, Size, Length??? Plastic Part?
WAFI replied to WAFI's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Thanks for the help! -
Anyone know the diameter and length of the black vent hose? I’m looking to order one. I’m also looking to order a direct replacement of the plastic kick plate if and knows where I can get one. I’ve seen replace plastic parts but none are direct replacements and need cutting etc..

Just had this pulled out yesterday, if anyone is interested. It works like a charm, no issues at all. I’ve seen a few on eBay for $400+ so how about $300 Venmo or Zelle I’m in the process of upgrading my panel. I have more stuff coming soon. Mitchell 52D66
