  1. Exactly what I was wondering. Appreciate the feedback! Thanks.
  2. Has anyone tried to remove and replace their vacuum pressure regulator in a C, E, F etc with a sloped windshield mod without having to tear the panel apart? Any chance it's possible through the triangular access panel at the corner of the windshield? Or from the bottom under the panel? Thanks.
  3. I checked my notes. Take a look at K130277-011 and -013 under the 77 & 78 M20J. That's the only thing I could find that might work. But you're buying the entire side panel too. If they offer just the window trim, please LMK.
  4. Found it. Thanks. Looks like they're offering $1900 for the 430 trade in.
  5. After 36 years as a USN Govt. test engineer, I'm skeptical of everything. Rigorous testing takes time and costs a ton; program managers often cut corners on testing unless forced. I like your idea. I almost bought the Sandia unit; then they pulled it off the market. Then I was ready to pull the trigger on the AV30; now it has issues. Looking forward to hearing more about the AV30. And BTW, I'm not infatuated with Garmin; glad to see some competition.
  6. When I ordered some window beading from them a few weeks ago, they recommended I always call to order. I'm repairing my old long window trim pieces now (I have the long window mod on my F and the trim was poorly pieced together years ago when the center post was cut out). Spent a week off and on repairing one side to make it look decent. I would have ordered if I could have found a P/N. Working on the other side soon.
  7. Yes, Plane Plastics is still in business but their web site is very difficult to use (and the drawings and P/Ns don't seem to be completely accurate across the various M20 models)). I couldn't find trim for the long window without it having the entire lower panel included (on any model aircraft). If you find a P/N, please post it. The only long trim I could find without the lower panel has the post in the middle (or at least the post is shown in the pics).
  8. The TC (TC100EVT) that I have (the one with the gold cup on the back) has six hose bibs. Two go to filters on the end of a 14" hose. The top one may have a restrictor after two inches but mine doesn't (but if so, you'd have two inches of hose, then the restrictor, then another 12 inches, then the filter). So... in my case, the side and the top bib have filters). I believe it's 7/32" hose. Gates P/N 27043. I got that P/N from the prior Brittain tech and ordered a roll. My hose keeps coming off the top bib. Below are a couple of photos of a TC100EVT I found on line (not my exact unit).
  9. Ahh. I thought the yoke button just bled off the vacuum to the TC. Didn't realize there was a pneumatic switch.
  10. Anybody know what part #6 does? The pilot valve assembly? I'm recently been working on my Brittain system (EVT with DG adapter). Trying to understand all the components. Thanks.
  11. I'm certainly not an expert but I was strongly considering an AV30 in the AI position and after reading this thread, I'm backing off. Garmin requires a GPS input for the G5. UAvionix does not require GPS for the AV30 (it's optional). Now I've gotta wonder if the test and certification process was not as rigorous as it should have been. Perhaps a GPS input should be required. Would love to hear from the engineers. Looks like the similar Sandia unit was discontinued too; it didn't require GPS either.
  12. This has probably been discussed many times, but I didn't have any luck searching. Does anyone know where the "Executive 21" decal is supposed to go on the 1967F? Thanks.
  13. I'm in SOCAL. Had my IO-360 overhauled at Corona Aircraft Engines. Have about 100 hours on it now. The cost was reasonable, I could drop by and check progress, and I'm pleased with the result. I would do business with them again.
  14. Anybody happen to know the correct colors for the press to test HI and LO Vacuum warning lights on the 67 Mooneys? Thanks.
  15. Kevin Westbrook can be reached at 918-521-5139. Cecilia Henderson is at 918-836-7701. Kevin helped me last month over the phone.
  16. Just guessing but it sounds like once you use the emergency release feature, it has to be reset somehow. My door doesn't have the emergency release. Also, I couldn't open my cabin door once, and had to have someone open it from the outside. If I remember correctly, I sheared the cotter pin on the handle. Since then the handle has been upgraded. Hopefully someone sees your post that has a similar model Mooney.
  17. I replaced my transponder antenna, and added a second GPS antenna after painting my airplane; no problem. I also removed a Stormscope antenna and didn't reuse that mounting location. The paint matched OK but it certainly wasn't ideal. Seems like you should be able to plan and foresee your antenna changes. That's your answer.
  18. Interesting timing. During my last fight I looked over at my engine monitor and muttered that I needed to change my OAT from C to F. I can relate to F more quickly during hot summer weather.
  19. Do you have the SWTA Cowl Mod or is that a J cowl? I have the SWTA mods on my F.
  20. My '67 has every possible mod (belly, windshield, gap seals, fairings, cowl, etc) and a three blade prop. A few years back, I made 85 flights between KCRQ and KFFZ with plenty of time to compare flights. My conclusion... 153 kts. Since then my engine has been overhauled. Really haven't watched speed that closely since then.
  21. Hi. I could use the trim/flap indicator plate. I could also use the plastic that surrounds the heater vent in that same area. Thanks.
  22. Hi. Looked on Ebay. No luck. Not urgent but would like to find one. Any leads, please LMK. Thanks.
  23. Understand thanks for the info.
