  1. Does anyone have a G5 installed as their HSI while keeping the King AI above it? I’m considering going that route to get GPSS with my KAP150 and IFD540 and would like to see what it looks like if anyone has a photo…. thanks, scott
  2. Yeah I see that now. What a crappy situation all the way around for everyone involved....
  3. THe shop probably feels that you conspired with the avionics manager to defraud the shop out of a rightful sale and their earned 20% commission, and sees you as complicit in the fraud against them. You may not have realized it at the time, but you effectively bought stolen property from the manager in a back door transaction - a situation you created by agreeing to circumvent the avionics shop in the first place. I’m actually surprised the shop haven’t held your logbooks or your plane until they got paid for the unit. You will probably have to end up paying the avionics shop for the full price of the unit in order to get clean title to it, and move on. Maybe you can initiate criminal action against the shop manager, but that will get messy because of your involvement in the transaction to begin with…
  4. Thanks everyone….I’m going the paint match route and will let you know how it works out….
  5. I am trying to get some touchup paint for my 85 M20J. The paint codes I have are Rosetone White (570-649), Crimson Maple 579-607, and Autumn Spice - 579-611. Does anyone have a source for matching touchup paint? Scott
  6. Hopefully we’ll get to see Anomaly on Saturday!!!!
  7. They use it for their IRS Form 990, to value the non-cash contributions that pilots make to the organization. For Skyhope, I use the fully reserved DOCs with no fixed costs, which I would incur with or without my volunteer flying.
  8. Rick, give me a call this morning and I can walk you through all the options we have at Aerox/Skyox… scott 239-405-6106
  9. It was great to meet you last weekend! I’m talking with JJ tomorrow and will tell him we met! scott
  10. Is the altimeter still available?
  11. Yeah I guess my point is that even in a decline, the Mooney stings less than a Cirrus or a newer 182 as the market retracts. I agree with you that as long as you aren’t paying stupid money, if you need an airplane, then buy it. I figured if not now, then when would it be? I’ve been flying since I was 17 and if I own the airplane for 10 years, I probably would never remember how much I had paid for it. now, the 200 hour private pilot spending 1.3MM for a new cirrus? I think they are in for some hurt….
  12. I bought my 201 in august after shopping for both 201s and 182Ts. I probably bought at the top of the market, but got a really good plane what was well taken care of. Every time I park the plane, I look back at it and think “I love it more than even the last time I flew it!” I am not sure I would be doing that if I had bought the Skylane. And a 20% drop in the 201 value is a lot less than the same percentage in a 182. Plus with the bonus depreciation this year it made waiting for the market to drop a non issue.
  13. I heard they were scheduled to be at sun n fun coming up. Basic med now accepted….
  14. I'm going to the one in LAL in January..."Frost on the wings" isnt in my vocabulary anymore!
  15. Anyone planning to go to breakfast Sunday morning? Maybe SEF or VNC?
  16. Williston is today? I’m going to see if I can make it up there….
  17. Thanks everyone for their hard work in putting the summit together. I enjoyed meeting everyone this weekend! Scott
  18. He’s actually not entirely wrong. If the FAA decides not to enforce their own regulations, private citizens cannot force the FAA to do so…meaning that airport sponsors have more leeway than you think….
  19. I think I know why….I’ll have to fix it this weekend….thanks!
  20. That’s correct. We bought Skyox earlier this year. We just finished the process of moving the STCs over to Aerox and it will take a little time to figure out how to best support them. My understanding is that they haven’t been supported in a number of years. In the meantime we are happy to work with you on a case by case basis to figure out what you need. I Will also be at the Summit too to answer any questions. (hopefully the website is redirecting to Aerox.com properly!) the skyox website shouldn’t be done, just rolling to us. Scott
  21. Your figures look like they assume around 100 hours a year or so, which makes sense. That works out to $168 an hour, plus fuel for another $60 or so, so over 10 years that’s $230 an hour all-in. Makes total sense. the value provided by the asset is transportation. That is where the Positive ROI comes from, not the terminal value of the aircraft at the end of a 10 year ownership period. Over that 10 years, you’ll go 150,000 miles. And you’ll spend $200+k doing it…still seems like a good value. Now just imagine all these folks spending 1.2mm on new cirruses! Wait until those bills start rolling in!
  22. I’m closing on my 201 in a few weeks and starting to build a provisioning kit for spare parts. Looking for suggestions….things like a spare main and nose tire, a few oil filters, etc to keep in a cabinet in the shop so I have them on-hand if needed. I have LED lights, so I will have to figure out what bulbs I need if any. What else should I have on-hand?
  23. For this regulator i would go right to C&L in Redding, CA. Jeff runs a great shop. Aviation Oxygen, Etc. is a broker and outsources the repairs, either to us (Aerox), or to Jeff depending on the equipment. From C&L's website... "Please be aware there are companies on the internet that advertise repair and overhaul capabilities which are NOT FAA repair stations. These companies farm out your equipment, and mark up original invoices. Please VERIFY your initial point of contact is certified to service your equipment. Otherwise, you will overpay for the job. C & L Aero has a repair station certificate number #L0JR785Y. " Scott

  25. I just donated $20 through PayPal. Is that all we have to do?
