I have never desired/wanted/lusted after a longbody Mooney or ANY airplane that costs more than a beautiful house in the MidWest. Others can and do. Good for them, I say do. One word, “might” is key. Get a decent battery with more storage and less weight. Then there might be something to this feel good electric powered fantasy that is viable as a replacement for carbon. Now? Nope.

Carbon is NOT dead and will be viable in quantity to provide for world for our and our children’s lifetimes. Meanwhile Tesla can not make a profit and their stock is tanking with a massive ramp up. New Mooney’s are so expensive as to not be on the radar of most. It is not the product, it is the price and those that can afford it. Cirrus is nice, newer design with a lower price point. Of course they will win...but I have zero interest in a used Cirrus. Used Mooney? Yes please. Support used Mooney’s. There are thousands of us...

Not looking for a fight and perceptions are reality, but maybe lighten up on the “3-blade is nose heavy in landing”? Trim is your friend and the weight of a 3-blade does not make the short body “Nose heavy” in landing...The 3-blade does shorten ground run and climb better than a 3-blade with a speed and weight penalty. More $ to overhaul. Nice to have options...Speed or ground run and climb. Choose your “winner”.

Sorry about your friend Turtle. That sucks. My wife used to be a non-flyer, but she is really quite good now. No hope there huh? Took a couple years to get my wife not catatonic... I won’t weigh in on your decision. That is yours to make. I personally would not go Experimental over a certified Mooney, but I am not even close to your wrenching. Don’t rush into your decision.

I agree, but I hope not in my lifetime for either planes/trains or automobiles. My reasons would simply open up a big debate I do not with to enter here or anywhere.

But if fire in the cockpit, no hesitation, no checklist, just understand and react. Survive.
