  1. Missile was successfully ferried to our A&P for its first annual in six years. Flight was uneventful and completed by its former 700 + hours in Missile pilot. Look forward to learning more about engine and airframe. Hope to have my first flight after a well earned two week vacation with my bestie.
  2. Keeping it as all Mooney as I can Hank. A good time was had and my daughter will be the first Great Granddaughter for my Mother in Law this fall. I am down 22 pounds, but nobody needs to see that I will stick to Missile and E photos And video on Mooneyspace.
  3. Crickets on replies to these questions regarding the incident. How about someone chiming in?
  4. Tom’s comment specifically discussed Iowa and you affirmed above so help me with my challenged reading comprehension. You validate his derogatory comment about lithium being lacking in Iowa’s water supply as correct and yet you didn’t double down on insinuation that Iowan’s (me) are hatters. (Super clever and mean spirited attack by Tom at me, but as -a- would say I should just let that go... Nope. Help me out Captain. How SHOULD this be interpreted? I know what Tom is. (And what he thinks he is). You? Not so much. Bring it. Break it down for simple little old me and if there was no slight...IF I lacked comprehension and there was no mean spirited wink wink good buddy Tom moment...and I will happily apologize. Otherwise? Spade called out as a spade. and yet you and I are found to be “similar”. Wow.
  5. Kel and I flew North Friday for the 39th “Up North” family reunion. Family has grown a lot in 39 years! From the seven original children there are now grandchildren and great grandchildren skiing/tubing and catching up. The video is on the return flight today at 8500’. Nice and smooth and 145 knots. 55 degrees up there so beat the heat. 1.9 on the tach. Thank you G.A and Mooney for another wonderful weekend! E6701979-EFAE-49DF-9BEF-B62326084F3E.MOV
  6. A lot of 5 cent “Lucy’s” have me all figured out. Thanks for keeping out of the weeds Ross.
  7. Hope he stays. He is an excellent judge of character. Over the top funny. Obviously extremely knowledgeable about Mooney Aircraft and what Iowa and its inhabitants are made of. Can’ Wait to attempt to comprehend his missives. Going to be great. Let the good times roll. Going Cap shopping. New hero found to emulate.
  8. So based on that 100% certainty that both pilots involved in incident were Caravan clinic trained within the last year. Good to know. Any specific criteria on airframe worth mentioning? Any restricted types for Caravan operations?
  9. So that is the second comment referring to instability in Iowa. Screw yourself Captain. With your cap on OR off...
  10. Even while in a Turkish prison? Doubt it.
  11. Love. Love will keep us together-Captain &Tennile
  12. Make it stop please, for the love of God Make it stop (disclaimer/explanation for enginerds and folks with zero sense of humor. Referring to endless talk about chutes on a thread comparing Mooney to Cirrus. At some point (long ago) this became only about chutes, not about pros and cons impacting a purchase decision. Chute guys, go to a Cirrus site and talk about your chutes. The regurgitated nuance is never ending. Start an I love chutes topic. A topic about why do Mooney’s not have chutes? How does a chute work? What does a chute cost? Then I know to steer clear)
  13. Surely you can’t be serious...
  14. MOONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Face palm to the interpretations (with agenda) on this thread. Just friggin’ answer if you would rather have a Mooney or a Cirrus. Judus Preist.
  16. Must keep beating dead horse! Must...gasp...Keep...spasm...Beating... Dead... Horse.
  17. I have never met a “true pilot” that you speak of here. I have just met pilots and non-pilots...
  18. More like: I can’t/don’t have it so I don’t care...
  19. The dip is more what people see on ground when you swing it you usually drop a bit. If you get it up early (when you have positive climb) it is no biggie. Almost impossible if you are going 100mph or more...
  20. And an airframe was not totaled.
  21. Beyond that. Mooney does NOT have a chute. NOT available. Title is Mooney vs. Cirrus. I choose Mooney over Cirrus. ALL the reasons have been discussed. Would I choose Mooney “more” if it also had a chute (1980’s retrofit) under your criteria? Absolutely.
  22. Well duh...
  23. NOT trying to be mean or contrarian. We are talking semantics here and I, based on what you wrote, (at the fear of being offensive): You are NOT picking up what I am laying down. In my opinion the video example is the perfect example as the pilot lost oil pressure over remote area. His option because he has a fixed gear Cirrus (and would likely flip on water impact) that is EQUIPPED with a Chute, was to pull the chute. I as a Mooney retractable owner WITHOUT a chute would lower nose and land on the water that was available along the shore. Each is a potential save outcome. I am just NOT wanting to pull in this scenario (IF my Mooney was equipped) as I can do a controlled glide and water landing, that while not without exposure to injury or death is to me a better exposure to minimize injury than descending into trees with all that entails. I am NOT hating on the Cirrus. I damn well am NOT hating on my Mooney. Given the choice I choose Mooney NOT Cirrus in this “pull early pull often” scenario.
  24. I like hats without buttons and have a “female” sized cranium? (7 1/8) so I am all over the clearance female caps without the top button.
