  1. Sorry, another question. Being in SLC and summer, should the idle be adjusted any differently? Just replaced the old carb with a rebuilt unit and trying to get dialed in. Right now I'm at 650 RPM and a rise of 30 with the mixture cut off. Thanks.
  2. I switched to 20W-50 Victory last oil change. No change in consumption. Just got the oil analysis back, everything is normal. Lycoming O 360 A1-D.
  3. Good job on the landing. Why didn't you have the cables replaced with the engine? I thought that was a common practice.
  4. I have a Donaldson on my 68C.
  5. I flew to Texas and had Carl do mine last year.
  6. I'm thinking of the 730 also. Don't have the cash for the 930, so was thinking the 730 was better than no monitor at all.
  7. I did reseal back in february. Prop had 400 hours since new in 2007. The shop only did the reseal and I asked them to paint the blades. No issues.
  8. The spiral looking white on the spinner of turbine engines is supposed to help. Don't know about GA though.
  9. Nerd moment. Snarge is the official FAA word for remains of a bird strike.
  10. I've been wearing compression socks since my mid 40's. We can even use our uniform allotment to purchase them. Commercial pilot for the last 23 years. Also wear them when riding the motorcycles, but I do a lot of distance riding.
  11. I used PVC I had laying around. Best idea ever! The only difference between mine and the one on Spruce is that its not red. Saved me $30.
  12. +1 for Houston Tank. Carl did mine last year.
  13. I have a friend with an Arrow. He had an issue with the gear bulb and had the trucks roll out when he landed. The FAA just wanted to see a corrective action in the logbook for fixing the light.
  14. I use an iFly, very happy with it. Stand alone GPS that pairs to my Stratus3 for ADSB in. Its an android platform.
  15. On mine a spring actually broke inside the pump. When my mechanic and I removed the pump, we could see pieces in the bucket we drained the fluid into. I sent it to Lasar for a rebuild and haven't had any issues since.
  16. I heard a Cirrus doing approaches when I went by DTA.
  17. Always learning!
  18. Great day to get my 200th Mooney hour and 24,000th flight hour!
  19. Triflow or LPS 2 for the heim joints.
  20. One other quick question. I assume there is a gasket between the air box and the bottom of the carb. My parts manual doesn't show the gasket. What is the part number? Thanks
  21. I think my carb is about done. As far as I can tell, last overhauled in1987. There are two options. 10-3878 and 10-4164-1. The plate on my current carb is so worn I can't really see which is currently installed. What's the difference in the two? One better than the other? The book says either will fit the O-360 A1D. Google isn't much help. Thanks.
  22. I just resealed my 3 blade and paint. $1800
  23. No longer Notice to Airmen, its now Air missions. Still depends on the airport though.
  24. Just get the PCU5000 and don't worry about it again. I replaced my Edo Aire when I bought the plane. It was 50 years old. When I took my prop to the prop shop, they said the overhaul cost is almost always more expensive than the new governor.
  25. My mechanic didn't like the cotter pin in back, so we fabricated a stop with a clevis pin and a small bracket similar to the Cessna stops.
