  1. I fly with many FO's who haven't flown GA since coming to the airlines. Me, I missed it and bought a C. VFR only for me, no autopilot.
  2. I also have Millenium's on my 68C. They were installed on a top OH before I bought the plane. They were added in 2006. The plane sat a lot til I bought it last year. As of my annual in June, all compressions 78 or 79. Almost 400 hours on the cylinders at this time.
  3. I'd also look at replacing the rod end on the throttle. The one on there now is obsolete. LASAR has the replacement. I did mine the last annual.
  4. Yep, switched. Thanks for the link!
  5. I don't. Forgot to take a pic. I think my mechanic switched in and out.
  6. Anyone have a pic of the backside of a RCAllen DG? Thanks
  7. Up lock block was just replaced with the new owner produced part. Works great! Thanks for everybody’s help.
  8. Another new owner question. I have a cotter pin keeping the seats from rolling off the track at the aft end. The parts catalog doesn't show a fantastic picture. Are the pins the only requirement, or should there be something a little more substantial? Thanks 1968C
  9. Thanks. I went with AOPA last year as a broker and went with Starr. I now have 65 hours in the plane, owned outright. Global was the cheaper option this year with hull at $50k, $0 deductible moving and not. What is it everybody says, one million smooth.
  10. Global or Starr? I just got a quote, about $150 difference between the two. Thanks
  11. Yes, easy to see
  12. Air bubble on the left? I had one on the right, ball was off to the left. My mechanic had me take the turn coordinator out and tilt to remove the bubble. Looks brand new now.
  13. Sorry, can’t figure out how to rotate....
  14. All done! Had a traveling mechanic observe my work, very happy!
  15. I've been flying for almost 30 years. It actually broke at an intermediate stop. I'm comfortable with flying by ear, no issues there. I just should've said nothing and flown it to my mechanic. Going to check with my mechanic today. Thanks for all the advice.
  16. So, is using a portable tach legal?
  17. Yeah, the city took over U42 also.
  18. That's the one I'm going with
  19. Cable is broken. The Mooney replacement is $325 from the factory. With that price I decided to go digital.
  20. That's what my mechanic is checking on. Thanks
  21. Quick question. My tach quit on my last flight to KSLC. SLC no longer has any GA maintenance on the field. They do have an avionics shop that can install a digital RPM gauge I ordered, but can't get to it til the end of May because of all the ADSB procrastinators. Any chance the FAA will issue a ferry permit? My mechanic really doesn't want to do the install at my shade hangar. Thanks
