  1. Mike, We are looking mostly at a 231, but would also consider a 201 or a 252 depending on price and overall value. I hope to see you at the summit, but isn't it Friday, not Saturday for the airport events? Thanks again for the info. Tripp
  2. Is anyone flying to the summit in Panama City from the Houston area? Would you be interested in 2 passengers going along to help with expenses? My father and I are prospective Mooney owners and are planning on going to the summit to learn more. We both have airline travel benefits, but would love an opportunity to travel in a Mooney to the summit. Since the summit waiting list has 70 people on it, we can only go to the airport day on Friday. We plan to return home on United at 5pm Friday or early Saturday, but could fly out with someone on Thursday if you'd like company. We both weigh about 160lbs and would have a small backpack for overnight stuff. Please send me a message or reply to this if you're interested. Thanks, Tripp
  3. Everything I read says don't by a -GB engine, but if I can get a nice one what about converting it over? Is this an easy conversion? How much? The engine has Gami's, but no intercooler or modified wastegate. Should those be done as well? Can this conversion still be done or has that shipped sailed like the -GB to -MB apparently has? Thanks, Tripp
  4. Thanks Don. As I said I can travel easily so I may hit you up if I can’t find anyone closer.
  5. Looking to buy a Mooney based on all of my research, but I’ve never flown or even been inside one. I’m 5’4” and wondering not only how the Mooney handles, but how is the visibility for me. From another post, it sounds like I’ll need cushions and possibly pedal extensions. Is there any Mooney owners at Conroe/ North Houston airport or within an hour or so drive that might be willing to let me sit in their aircraft and/or possibly take me for a short orientation flight, at my expense of course? Any Mooney specialist CFI’S around that could help me get a good checkout and training in either yours or hopefully my Mooney? Again, preferably in TX, but I travel free so most anywhere is possible. I’m a 29 year Captain with the airlines with a little over 20,000 hours, but most all of it in large jets and not a lot of recent GA time, so I’m looking to get not only proficient, but comfortable. My dad is also going to partner with me. He’s a retired 37 year airline pilot with even less GA time and none in 30 years, so we both need some serious time and work to get qualified to own and fly. Thanks for all help and advice. Tripp
