  1. Absolutely go with a Mooney! I was reminded why I fly a Mooney yesterday when ATC informed a Cessna that I was overtaking him by 50kts. In fact, the controller mentioned it twice :-)
  2. I'll be there for PPP. See ya there!
  3. Ok you're definitely right, the first lake pic is Clearlake, second one is Klamath. My bad :-)
  4. That is Klamath Lake in Oregon. Looks like Clearlake from altitude though. Yes, great airport in Sisters (6K5). Nice courtesy car too. The only downside is 100LL is $5.80, so on my way out of town I made the 6 minute hop to Redmond (KRDM) and filled my bird for $3.75 a gallon.
  5. The Mooney cabin is 1.5 inches wider than your 182.
  6. Bump your budget up and get what you want. Rates will never lower. It's a car payment. You have a job, right?
  7. Grabbing excellent tacos in Ukiah, CA with my Mooney bro, Ron. His MS name is M20D6607U
  8. I'm glad you're both okay, I'm sorry your bird was crunched.
  9. I'm 6'3' and the J was a no-brainer. I aimed high and got the IFR panel I wanted and everything else, new interior, good paint, top prop, young motor. No regrets!!! Whether it is and C, D, E, F, G or J, get the best airplane you can afford. They are all Mooneys and they all rock. Don't buy a "bargain" that needs upgrades. Pay a little more up front. Just my two cents.
  10. I had the same experience there recently. They said they would waive the fee if I purchased 10 gallons. Airplane only took 9.2 so they let me slide on the fee. The trip was great though, because I met two U2 pilots from Beale AFB who were there on a training flight in their nightrider black T-38 Talon. They obliged me and let me check it out and showed me around.
  11. Ok good, they were cycled and adjusted during the pre-buy. Thanks for the info!
  12. Yesterday I picked up my new ship and brought it home, what a great feeling! Anyway, as I put the airplane away I notice the nose gear doors were out of alignment. I did not notice anything before. Is this a concern? I plan to have it looked at by a mechanic, but I'm curious if anybody on MS has any input. Should I stay on the ground in the meantime?
  13. After 400hrs of smashing bugs in brand C, I finally bought a 201! I spent a great deal of time here reading various threads during my decision process. So thank you! My name is Andy Chambers and I'm based at KSTS (Santa Rosa, CA). As far as my wife knows, this is the second happiest day of my life!
  14. Hi - I'm new to the forum and based at KSTS. I would definitely be interested in discussing a partnership. I'm currently searching for a 201 or Eagle.
  15. I would like to know more and see some pics
