This is always fun to get on. Once the sleeve is in place (up as far as you can get it) you can grab both sides it close to the top (front and back) and twist it back-n-forth and that will take the crease out. Yours looks like it's in very good shape - I would not change it.

Thanks, Paul, great to know this can be repaired. I've been using C&L for bottle and regulator recertification - really good service. As soon as the bottle pressure gets close to zero, I'll send it in.

Filled my new O2 bottle on Friday and found the fill port was leaking after removing the fill hose. Screwing the cap on stopped the hissing but I noticed there was no rubber seal inside the cap so I'm sure it's still leaking (slowly) past the cap threads. Is the fill port something that can be repaired (maybe an o-ring)? I have not researched the parts book yet - anyone know if this is a Mooney part?

My K was pushed out of Kerrville a little before yours and also converted to the MB engine. You have a great attitude about this adventure and you're going to love the plane. Just wait util you start thinking about avionics...

Working when removed. Never needed it much in northern California. What you see is what you get. $200.00 and I pay for shipping. Hope someone can use it. .

M20K TIT and CDT Sensor/Probe Sources

KS is still in business. I went there last week to get my probe back. He even tested it and confirmed it was still functional. He's in poor health and would like to sell the business (Dynon was going to buy it and then backed out). It's worth a try - call him because his wife does answer the phone. It might work out - or keep checking ebay. -

The armrest has flow! Thanks for your interest.

Century II gyros (and the box) removed for upgrade. The gyros working fine (DG rebuild in 2019). The AP was not working well but I'm not sure the box was the issue but in any case, - I'm throwing it in the deal. $500.00 for both (worth more, I think, but they need a new home). Hope someone can use them. Let me know if you need more info.

I installed a LASAR armrest in the previous Mooney I owned. Removed it and then sold the plane. I don't have the receiver (the plane is now in Mexico) but I do have the armrest. Happy to send it to someone that can use it, just need an address.

I understand RAM sells a TSOed clamp that is reasonably priced. Worth checking out.

Thanks, Paul. Confirmed by JPI. Got any other ideas? -
Speedbrakes failed after only 31 years of use

I had a Fiat 850 in high school - it was the worst. After that was a TR-4 followed by a Spitfire and then a 914. Nothing beat the fun of the 914. Still like British sportscars. -
M20K TIT and CDT Sensor/Probe Sources

Very good idea. I have a call in to JPI - they are busy today. The factory Mooney TIT probe is a little unique in that it's and ungrounded probe with a higher resistance of 1.6 ohms (most probes I see are less than 1.0). I hope JPI can help. -

Aaron, Did you ever find an alternative to the Alcor TIT probe? I've been working with KS Avionics but no luck so far. The Alcor probe in now $540 at Spruce...crazy. -
I think Steve is right - my shop says it's about 8 months out so Q3-Q4 makes sense. Encouraging in any case.

Tim's Aircraft Engines in Long Beach did my cylinders a few hundred hours ago - fairly quick turn and so far no issues at all. Don't know what their current TAT is.

I think this is great news. I'm hoping FAA now has greater confidence in Dynon's AP and the approvals come faster. Even the Mooney AP progress bar moved on the Dynon site.

Help Diagnose Engine Problem - M20K TSIO-360-MB
231MJ replied to Z W's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
I have same conversion and same engine. This sounds frustrating. I once chased a rough running engine after a top overhaul - after spending a lot of money we checked the simplest thing...one injector was blocked. Cleaned it and it ran great. A rebuilt fuel pump is expensive, and I wish I had not done it but sometimes we get so desperate to fix an issue we get carried away. Make sure they check the simple stuff first - all of it. -
Vacuum Speed Brakes Actuator Canister Binding
231MJ replied to 231MJ's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Can someone explain how to paste a picture into the message - thought I had it but I see it does not show up. I attached the pic I tired to paste into the message to this comm. vacuum speed brake canister assembly.pdf -
My vacuum speed brakes have recently become intermittent; I can see one side wants to deploy but it gets suck trying to open. On the ground the wing units open freely by bulling on them and there is no binding or resistance to opening. Took the belly off and inspected the rubber boot - no tears and tape is firmly in place. However, when I push on the actuator can that connects to the cables (Can B, below) it binds going into the static can (Can A, below). It seems to get hung up on the lip of the inner can (Can A). Is there something inside the two cans that keeps them aligned? Did the rubber boot stretch or move to the point where the two cans are now too far apart leading to bad alignment when vacuum is applied? I sent a question to Precise Flight but they don't support the vacuum brakes in any way (other than sending me the old installation manual). Again, this is not an issue with the rubber boot or the cables or the solenoid valve. Thanks vacuum speed brake canister assembly.pdf

I have the parts catalog. If you email me I can send it to you.

I had this same problem in my TSIO360-MB. I would land, turn off the runway and the engine would stumble and if I didn't add throttle quickly it would kill and then I had to do a hot start. I never figured out what the problem was but after getting new (not rebuilt) mags the problem seems to have gone away. No adjustments to the fuel system were made. I know it makes no sense that this was a magneto problem and I'm not suggesting it is, but so far so good. I think any improvement to the ignition like new mags, fine wire plugs and even the SlickSTART booster for a hotter spark during starting has helped. Plus learning how to do a hot start has reduced my anxiety level after fueling. I don't know what causes the problem but I'm glad to know it's not just me or my engine.
