For all of you that haven't participated in a formation flight clinic, regardless if you intend to join the Caravan to Oshkosh (which is beyond neat!), come learn how to fly your plane, putting it where and when you want it!! I know no other Flight Clinic that will grow your flight skills like a Formation Clinic! Good times, Great People!

  8. Stinkbug If you r flying back via El Paso, what we call the lower route & need a stop, let me know maybe meet up, 5T6 is my base fuel much cheaper! Fly safe enjoy your new aircraft!
  9. I have had the 430 530 & now 750 & 650. Have flown 100rds of hours with each. Can tell u hands down if I had to choose 1 it would be the 750. 650!to small and does not have all functions as 750. I have GDL 88 as well. Had a little trouble with my 750 this one is #3 in less than 2 years. Had only a little over a month no problems so far. I also have the G500 with SVT. Gave up XM weather but it is superior to ADS B in several ways including satellite clouds, time updates & more, but it works for me. Bottom line I would Go with 750! Advice free probably all it's worth Fly safe

  15. I use McFarlin prop guard on my Rocket. Never flown off anything except paved surface, still had lots of prop nicks.. So this year picked the guard up at Oshkosh. I do use all the tips such as slow ground prop speed, etc. Senior pilot who takes off multiple times daily suggested I do a modified portion of my run up during taxing. I've been doing that since last annual, seems to be significantly less dings than before!

  21. Wow With Oscars comments Inwonder how many like me take for granted how good we have it here in the USA! Thank God Now the second and more important question I have is how many of us are working to keep what we have.....? I know I'm not doing as much as I can or should! Fly safe all!
  22. Had a guy come out to the ramp where I have a second home and he had just seen a couple other Mooneys fly formation with me who had a question for me! Why does your Mooney elevator relax to the full down position and mine does not he ask? He has a 69E I had no idea and had never paid any attention to elevator position in relaxed condition. Looking at several pictures what I found online of other E & they appeared to have the elevator in slightly down relaxed position. I see in another forum some topic about elevator rigging setup by serial #.
  23. Chris let me check I might have a couple I took out of my Saratoga when I installed the Garmin 530. I think they are in my hanger let me see if I can find them. I'll let u know!
  24. Erik I have dual TIT and one is calibrated. The Engine Monitor I have installed is Insight G4, it calculates the HP. Just last week I updated the firmware so now it calculates HP in both LOP & ROP. The formula as I understand it is different, but I won't even try to debate that with a mathematical guru l I keep you lol. I'll post images of older and recent shots of the G4 screen.
  25. I run my Rocket LOP at 80% plus all the time. Lean until Turbo is below 1625! 35MP smooth at 16.3 GPH 185-190 TAS @ 12000 FormationHY did you get the images I sent you with the settings you and I discussed. About 13.9 or 14 GPH ay 30MP as I recall. Lower MP allows for less of a LOP and lower TIT.
