  1. Today
  2. Sunday was a great day to visit Microlights expo (LSA machines) in France, I am very impressed by the new shinny "250 ULM/LSA": they can fly at FL250 or 250ft agl doing 250kts speeds, unfortunately at 250k€ they are still beyond my budget, I can get an Ovation or Encore for that price Return flight was done IFR over Paris, we wanted to overfly Disney, our flat and see Melun airshow from 70000ft but ATC want us at 5000ft before being vectored away: two Pitts were using all the airspace in their RAT at the way to 5500ft !! Kid waiting for the "mini-train" Route over Disney in East of Paris, Disney, On ILS for Toussus (LFPN)
  3. Yeah I'll have the shop correct anything with the TC but it would be nice to at least verify whether it's the TC that needs adjustment or the rigging. The avionics shop also shares a hangar with a mechanic. He said it'll work as the 375 can output the analog mv left/right signals. Current upgrade budget is going into new audio/com1 (par200b), CDI, and GPS so I can get my IR training done. If I can get it to follow a GPS course that'll do for now. Still looking for an Accuflite...
  4. @flyboy0681 How long did it take Ed?
  5. The F model has a Ford 8N 4 pole tractor relay in it.
  6. I believe this is the switch you are looking for: NKK switch part No. MB2061SS1W01-CC You can just use the cap to replace yours. The cap is a screw on as you probably found out the hard way. Not sure if one can get the button only, but the entire switch is $12 from TTI so it may be worth it even if you do not use the switch. https://www.tti.com/content/ttiinc/en/apps/part-detail.html?partsNumber=MB2061SS1W01-CC&mfgShortname=NKK&utm=ga-shop1&utm_term=nkkmb2061ss1w01-cc&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1147404620&gbraid=0AAAAADvyBAbKzFqGooAmvtqZHrFicDT9_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx5n37ODKjwMVBSlECB0jrjtwEAQYASABEgKI0_D_BwE
  7. Flying hot? Don't miss this unique opportunity to leave Tampa looking and feeling cooler after the Mooney Summit this weekend!

  9. I had the same problem about three years ago and called around to MSC’s throughout the country to no avail. In the end I found the assembly right down the road from me at Premier. I caught hell here for paying $2,400 and not replacing the relays individually (one comment suggested using a relay from a tractor). I feel I did the right (and legal) thing.
  10. also used in Piper saratoga and Cherokee Also a RBM 70-311221
  11. My only gear trouble was after an electrical failure; a component on the circuit board behind the panel rheostar blew and took out everything electric on approach just after breaking out and turning inbound, and the second time the alternator died, flaps went down slowly, couldn't transmit and then gear didn't move. Both times, emergency extension worked just fine. But like I did, you'll have to investigate to find the root cause. Good luck!
  12. I got my KX-165 back from Ed a month ago and it is just like brand spanking new. Maybe better than new with the LED display.
  13. The other threads will be useful, but yours may be wired slightly differently. You should look at the wiring diagram in the electrical schematic for your year group. It is probably in the end of the maintenance manual. You definitely have some type of limit switches in those can be a common source of failure.
  14. What did your leather upholstery do to anger you
  15. Would anyone have a source for the subject button?
  16. Digitized and linked TOC on my EFBs the paper is in a pretty leather binder I got off Etsy and it is never touched plane two does not have a POH
  17. I have my #2 connected directly to the KI-204 and my RMI, while my #1 goes through a KN-72 nav converter then into the KI-525 HSI. My plane came with pretty much the entire silver crown setup installed. I even still have the original ADF and DME! Both of my KX-155's are the same part number, they are interchangeable. I assume they both have built in resolvers?
  18. Fair, I’d feel the same!
  19. 100% POH/AFM trumps all *if your plane has one
  20. LOL, some work a little slower than others, no reason to RUSH into anything someone must have done something to bring the post forward....BUT, if he's still looking for an aluminum binder, this should help him out
  21. @Matthew P Uh, you do realize you're commenting on a 13 year old post from a member that hasn't posted here since June of 2023
  22. LOL! I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I was CERTAIN it would work with my CDI head. I've gotten mixed messages as to if I can replace a KX-155 with a KX-165 without issue. Too chicken to chance it!
  23. ….so, back to the point…anybody want a working kx-165?
  24. Literally! Becker Radio makes the guts of the "Bendix King" KX-200 and just puts an adapter on it to make it fit in the KX-155 tray. It took Bendix-King at least 5 years to figure out how to make this combination work. It is very far from a "slide-in" replacement. A lot of re-wiring has to be done with virtually no company support. Just like their "Bendix King" Aerocruze 100 Autopilot is a TruTrak design after they bought them out. TruTrak was getting autopilot approvals every few months for more airframes. "Bendix King" takes years to accomplish the same thing. Their "Bendix King" Aeronav GPS/Nav/Com is an Avidyne IFD with a sticker on the front. And so on . . . The now defunct "Bendix King" KSN770 Gps/Nav/Com had to be completed by Aspen and finally after it was complete 10 years late, I believe they sold less than 20 units. Not that re-branding is necessarily a bad thing from a company that hasn't introduced anything they actually designed since around the KLN94 GPS. I wouldn't trust anything they designed now since they haven't kept a promised delivery date in decades and basically cancelled all of their dealer contracts except two a few years back. The King KX170B was perhaps the most durable radio ever since there was no display to go bad. The KX-155/165 have been around for decades along with the rest of the Silver Crown line they had back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. But spending good money after bad to repair any of these units is a questionable venture these days. Having a few around that came out of other airplanes and were bought inexpensively might be the best option if there's no panel work in sight.
  25. And powder coated and laser marked!
