FWIW, they have parts breakdowns on line that have all the part numbers. They should have the screw sizes. -

Me, too. Sadly the Dynon folks left us out in the cold, roo. I'd love a Skyview panel ans AP, but apparently it can't be . . . So I'm left cheering for whoever finishes up their blasted AP first. And if it's Dynon, they'll sell a full panel, too. Otherwise my steam gages will soldier on.

I know this plane - immaculate airframe, well cared for, regularly flown, basic IFR panel with with 430 and basic autopilot.

Stripped wheel cover thread on nose gear

It doesn’t give torque values for the wheel cover screws. Or repair procedures. It doesn’t give the screw sizes either. -
I order from spruce because I can order it and pick it up an hour later with no shipping cost. But we are in a unique situation, there is a Spruce warehouse next to our airport. I never tried it, but the guy at the will call counter told me they will let you return cut wire, so if you ordered it too short, send it back and get the right length.

Need Help - 1974 Mooney M20C - Annunciator light INOP
MikeOH replied to JimHaynes's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
I have an F model (1970) and the indicator bezel looks just like yours. I've not looked directly behind it to know if there is a board. The control board that contains the test and dimming circuitry is located at the top of instrument panel under the glare shield. There were two versions. I have the schematics for both. I don't know if those were still in use in 1974, or they used another system. OK, I looked up the schematic. It is 800275. I have REV. R, and REV. IR....one for DELCO transistors, and the other for RCA transistors. - Today

Need Help - 1974 Mooney M20C - Annunciator light INOP
JimHaynes replied to JimHaynes's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Hello, thanks for the response. Unfortunately, no they didn't give any more information, and they didn't know the assembly part number. They said there is a small circuit board inside that annunciator instrument that directs which light to ignite, and it was inop, and they could not repair it. They did test the light bulbs and the green light for the green down indicator does work. -
Spruce will terminate one or both ends if you tell them what you want. Don't be random, get a tape measure out and measure the route. There are other avionics shops that will do that too.nnLook for the shops that do a lot of work for the experimental market. The RG59 was in poor shape in my 1986 M20K, i can't imagine how bad it is in a 1960's or 70's plane. Aerodon

Exactly! Spruce is NOT the place for a bargain...only use them for stuff I can't get elsewhere! Amazon can be okay, but quality can be iffy....quality cable from a reputable manufacturer is worth a premium. There are certainly places cheaper than DigiKey, no doubt.
-
I get it on amazon. Spruce is often not a good place to get non-aviation-specific stuff.

this sunday I wanted to see how well the m20K did in high density altitude so went to South Lake Tahoe in the middle of the day about 8500 DA. The plane did extremely well and took off rather quickly with 2 ppl (200 pounds each) and 35 gallons of fuel. 2 things I noticed: 1. there was very little P-factor and actually accidentally applied too much right rudder. 2. the ram effect took longer to kick in so slight overboost the engine (which is okay up to 43 and 7 seconds) but definitely something to watch out. just sharing some experience

DigiKey has many other pre-cut lengths; as well as spools. No idea why you'd pay a premium to buy from Spruce??
-
thanks I read the ac91-75 and according to it I can actually just mark it inop. I have a secondary electric AI with the slip/skid right in the FOV. Please let me know if I am not interpreting the AC correctly I also have a secondary electric vacuum pump.

Need Help - 1974 Mooney M20C - Annunciator light INOP
MikeOH replied to JimHaynes's topic in Avionics/Panel Discussion
Sorry you're having issues. Did the shop give any more details than, "the board is toast"? I'm not sure what board they are referring to: the one behind the lights (not sure there is one), or the 'control board' below the glare shield? Dumb question, but did they check the bulbs?? -
We installed a LASAR overhauled pump and bled it. Comes down fully and firmly in 4 to 5 strokes. The flaps will not remain down however. After a few seconds they retract gradually to the full up position. What's the deal?

I wouldn’t buy the 10 foot lengths from Digikey. I would buy a single continuous length. Spruce sells it.

Exactly what I did And, felt a bit ripped off by the Alpha kit: Two MS clamps, 2 X AN bolt/washer/nut and bushing. -

You used the STC (with the difficult to install clamp) from Alpha Aviation with Hooker Harnesses?
