  1. Maxwell can repair it. They recently did mine.
  2. When I’m traveling it’s usually to a towered airport. You’re right, it is very rare to get a standard pattern in that situation.
  3. The C in Colorado had a Johnson bar. Very well-equipped. Looking at FlightAware, it appears they were doing multiple touch and goes. Don’t do that.
  4. No way.
  5. Contact your FSDO. But if it’s still legible I wouldn’t bother.
  6. Especially if you’re going to be flying IFR, get a G5 or GI275. I have been flying with a G5 HSI now for a few months, and I don’t see any reason to get the fancier model. If you have the money for it, get the G5 AI as well. Then you can delete your vacuum system, and you will have full attitude redundancy.
  7. My expertise is more in the way of writing checks than anything else, but here’s my advice: having seen some awful DIY touchups, find a shop to do it for you.
  8. GA has been "dying" for 50 years. I guess all the young folks buying airplanes didn't get the news.
  9. Downtown or Spirit of St. Louis are very GA friendly. We’ve used both, but mostly KCPS. It’s very easy to get into the city from there.
  10. Why not have Duncan install it? I’m not sure many shops would be enthusiastic about installing a full autopilot system purchased elsewhere.
  11. You are very lucky indeed. That part is obsolete and should have been updated a long time ago. Replace it with Part No. 660051-005. "Engine Control Rod End Swivel Joint." I bought mine from Maxwell.
  12. You might find that your insurance premiums go down a bit as you get more recent retract time.
  13. Do you have engine analysis data to share?
