N6843N Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Well I got my copy in the mail a week or so ago and have decided to go the terminating route. I struck a deal with Hartzell for $2500 dollars for the new hub and reseal/change blades. Some times it pays to follow manufactuers recommended maint procedures and times. That said how many of you guys are going with the 100hr eddy current inspection and how many are getting the new hub? Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Since the 2006 AD came out, I have done 3 ECI, the first two cost $200 each and this year's was $250. It is a minor nuisance to fly to the shop and have the inspection done on the ramp. Quote
N6843N Posted November 22, 2009 Author Report Posted November 22, 2009 I agree it is a minor deal really. The NDT shop here offered to do mine for nothing, I guess I am worried it will become mandatory down the road. If I wait till next winter I lose my ability to get the hub for half price as I would be over the 6 year time or 1000 hrs SOH they put as a limit on that deal. Quote
Mooney65E Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I've had the ECI done the last 2 annuals for about $200 or so. I've still got a couple good years of life on that prop and would like to prolong getting a new prop for at least 2 more. New 2 blade scimitar will cost ballpark $7500. I gues I'd rather keep writing small checks. Quote
skyking Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I just paid $9,000 canadian for the new "top-prop" conversion. I got a new hub, prop and spinner. russ Quote
