RonM Posted Monday at 04:34 PM Report Posted Monday at 04:34 PM Friends: Just curious. About how many Mooney Missiles are there in the world? In the USA? (Not Rockets, please. Unless you want to specify Rockets. This is just for curiosity anyway.) Have a great day everybody. Best - RonM
toto Posted Monday at 04:46 PM Report Posted Monday at 04:46 PM This article from 2018 said there were 55 total Missile conversions. Not sure how long after 2018 the mod was available from Rocket. https://aviationconsumer.com/uncategorized/mooney-missile/
Echo Posted Monday at 11:48 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:48 PM My old partners have our beautiful Missile with Jimmy (Don Maxwell is installing a majored engine. This plane will be a wonderful Mooney when overhaul is completed.
RonM Posted yesterday at 12:02 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:02 AM I should have said. I am not looking to purchase a Mooney Missile. Very happy with mine. I am original owner of an MSE 1991 / Missile 1997 Conversion. Very happy with the airplane. I thought there would have been like 150 Missiles in the USA. About 55, huh? My once new airplane has become rare and kind of vintage.

1980Mooney Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I believe I have the last Missile conversion which was done in summer of 2001. At the time, all they were working on were JetProp DLX conversions of Malibu's. They told me that it had been about 9 months since they had done a Missile conversion and they were "rusty". They plumbed up my fuel injection lines incorrectly and they had to get the local Continental rep out to straighten it out while I was standing there. 55 sounds close. Less than that now....
