carusoam Posted April 12, 2017 Report Posted April 12, 2017 From the backside, you may be able to see where the wires connect... the legs are bent differently and may give a hint to what you are looking at. I would try a lot of iPhone gymnastics to get a photo... Pp thoughts only, This is purely a guess on my part. Best regards, -a- Quote
helitim Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 If you are going to spend more than 30 seconds looking under the panel, consider removing the pilot seat. Take a towel or some kind of padding for the rudder pedals and, as mentioned before, your iPhone for pics. Getting those breakers in and out is no easy feat because of the limited space to get your hands up in there to wrench. I recently replaced a couple and it tested my patience Tim Quote
N400YS Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 (edited) Hi folks, As all mooney owners, I encounter a rocker switch break down last week (fuel pump, not the cover, the whole switch). I mailed immediatelly my mechanic to order a new one and he quotes the part 220$ as espected....I was upset and thought it couldn't get worst! I WAS WRONG..... This morning, my mechanic warned me that the number part moved from 930023-311 to 930023-311A as the price did from 220 to 375$!!!!!! I fell down my chair thinking how many switches could break on this plane...... The silver lining of this story is that now I am decided to swap all the lights that I can on my plane to LED in order to leave them allways ON to avoid playing with those golden plated switches......... May the force be with your rocker switches Edited June 1, 2017 by N400YS Quote
gsxrpilot Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 I heard the same just last night. JD at SWTA ordered three of the Klixon switches for my 252 about three weeks ago from Mooney. We were told 2 weeks and $220 per. As of last night, Mooney is saying another week or so and now $375 per. 1 Quote

OMG! Can you buy them direct from the factory? Or could an A&P shop buy them direct form the factory in Germany? I'll be in Germany in two weeks. Give me the contact details and I'll go get a box full of them :-) 1 Quote

I have first to check that the new one from mooney is the same that from ETA.....but of course, buying directly from the factory, will not permit to have the genuine paperwork..... I'll keep you informed when I will receive the new one... Quote

carusoam Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 The Klixons we have are direct from the switch factory. No specific Mooney alterations. They come from the aviation supplier part of the switch company. Hope you find the same with the other brand. Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
jetdriven Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 (edited) At that rate we can replace all the Klixon 20TC switches. Just to confirm, these are a drop in replacement for the ETA switches? Edited June 1, 2017 by jetdriven Quote
Marauder Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 The ETA switches come in two flavors. One with an integrated breaker, the other is just a switch. The ETAs have a different configuration that the Klixon 20TCs. I posted a picture of them side by side in an earlier thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote

I see "Germany" stamped on one so I think these are ETAs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 1 Quote
