markazzarito Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 Im wondering if anyone has found a replacement solution for the thermos style gas caps? As the rubber goes bad the latches end up pulling through the thin aluminum I’ve replaced a couple but new ones dont exist from what i can tell anymore? another one of mine just failed and need a solution i have a 63 M20C Quote
hammdo Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 @Sabremech did a modern upgrade on the one I bought from him. Very nice. Both caps are like the Ovation version and readily available. -Don Quote

Spruce sells these caps, as NOT FAA approved. But, if you got one and took parts off of it to rebuild your caps, then it’s a repair. Talk to your A&P/IA first. As long as they’re happy, you’re golden. 2 Quote

Disassemble it and use just the rubber piece to repair the Mooney cap, throw the rest in the scrap metal pile. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro XL using Tapatalk 1 Quote
