Not sure this is permitted but does anyone have a recommendation for a mobile mechanic willing to do a pre-buy on a 1967 F in the Petaluma, CA area (O69)?

Not that far to Stockton and Top Gun.

Any reason the owner won't let you take it there for a pre-buy?

From O69 I would definitely go to Top Gun though they may be the shop that is currently maintaining the plane given the proximity.  Even in that case though I would trust Mark about the condition though I know it is bad practice in general to use the maintaining shop.

Buyer has been trying to reach Top Gun for a couple days with no response to messages left. Anxious to complete the pre-buy thus looking around at other options.

The guys at Top Gin can be hard to reach, but patience + insistence (keep calling) usually gets you through. It’s worth it.

Interesting, I've never had trouble getting through on the phone as long as you call between 9-4 and don't call during lunch.

Team light aviation in Rio vista 707-683-1121. Bill the IA had a vintage mooney for many years. Bill and Lee are very knowledgeable mechanics. Tell them Chris referred you. I have a plane based there.

Lee did the prop balance on this Mooney. Great guy and great service. Buyer ended up getting an inspection in Auburn and I was happy to fly to them. They were also great. Nice to see people who really care!  Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
