Guest Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 New M20J owner. I have noticed some significant differences between the speed limitations in my aircraft poh vs the type certificate data sheet. My M20j is an early serial number and for example, the tcds shows a gear extension speed of 120mph. Poh says shows 155. I’ve been using the more conservative speed especially for gear and flaps. Am I missing something? Quote

Am I missing something? That is probably dependent on your serial number. Make sure your POH is for your airplane not just a generic M20J POH. 1 Quote
Marc_B Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 I dealt with this with my K where I had pages from 2 different versions of the POH in my aircraft POH. Come to find out there were 2 revisions from the original POH issued with the aircraft. So make sure what you're seeing in your aircraft is actually the current revision applicable to your aircraft as well. Mine was so all over the place that I just ordered a new POH though my MSC and worked with Frank Crawford at Mooney to make sure I had the right info. Quote

A64Pilot Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 I believe the TCDS takes precedence over anything else. However I agree with if there is a disagreement using the most conservative number until you get it clarified, regardless of which one it is, because more than once I’ve seen a TCDS to be incorrect. Shouldn’t happen but has. 1 Quote

Pinecone Posted December 9, 2023 Report Posted December 9, 2023 From the notes,, you just need to comply with the SB. The *** line states "and previous S/Ns if SB M20--209 is complied with." 1 Quote
