My mechanic is going to be removing the KFC 200 roll servo from my J so it can be sent off for repairs. He’s never done this job before.  Any words of wisdom for him other than to charge double his normal rate?

AP does not follow heading bug or follow flight director in heading mode or level wings with AP on heading mode off. On ground test does not turn control yoke in response to heading bug.  FD operates normally.  AP computer tests good. Planning to send to Bevan Aviation.  Thanks.

roll  servo huh....its in the right wing and held in place by 2 or 3 an3 7/16 in bolts. He only needs to remove actual servo from capstan assembly which engages a spline gear...15 min job plus disconnecting db18 plug and its hard to access zip ties...i recomend a low profile 90 degree mini 1/4 in ratchet driver to fit inside the wing

Jake you should be receiving it today. I was out of town when he removed it and he removed some other stuff too.  Hope it’s not a problem to put back. Don’t know how long it took him.

Wow!  Talk about fast service!

I would be very interested in what "other stuff" was pulled.

That is a rather complicated installation and should have been 2 bolts on the mount and a Winchester connector.

I would be happy to give advice to make sure that thing goes back in just right, I have the installation manual that will be needed, especially if the cable and mount are loose.
