rbridges Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 (edited) I'm not hurting for one, but I was wanting to change the tires on my mains. I placed an order with Spruce in October. Date for shipment has been pushed back from October to November to December to (you guessed it) now January. I'm at the point where I'm hoping it's in my hands by the time my annual is due in September. I checked Desser and a few other places with no luck online. Should I just hold my place in queue, or is there somewhere else I can try? Edited December 14, 2022 by rbridges Quote
Andy95W Posted December 14, 2022 Report Posted December 14, 2022 (edited) I installed two of these in 2021. They are at least as good as the Airstops (same material). In a year and a half I’ve only had to add air once (besides the annual). I think Richard @Skates97 might have recommended them to me. They are in stock and have a really nice angled metal valve stem. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/lgpages/aero_06-03303.php Edited December 14, 2022 by Andy95W 4 Quote

I haven't had any issues with them. Quote
Patrick Lyons Posted December 16, 2022 Report Posted December 16, 2022 Another fan of butyl tubes !! There are lots of "EXAMPLES " of the old Saying.....ONCE YOU'VE TRIED _________ YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK Well , Once you have installed Butyl Tubes I bet you will never go back. Purchased a complete set of Tires and new Butyl Tubes from Dresser at Air Venture 2022. Nothing wrong with the my existing tubes installed when I purchased my Mooney 201 in YEAR 2003. Fact is I had only seen the tubes a few times when I replaced tires. Im not suggesting one should ever neglect tires in your preflight....but you will smile at knowing you seldom if ever have to top off your tires. And a cool suggestion... most markets have a COSTCO store with NITROGEN available .Once you have inflated with NITROGEN you have two bonues. and I had forgotten about the quality of the cooper metal stems and for those who might ask....please do the math ...twenty years on a set of tubes ain't bad. Pinecone Posted December 17, 2022 Report Posted December 17, 2022 Exactly what are the two bonuses for using nitrogen? The main reason they use it in race cars is that in the pits, tanks are easier to deal with than a compressor. Quote
