I'm looking for a Mooney mechanic in the St. Louis area who can repair a fuel tank leak. It is leaking fuel into the cockpit behind the captain's chair. Does anyone know of a mechanic who could help me fix it?

Most likely you will simply need to tighten the inboard fuel sensor screws. Common issue as the planes age

Remove the seat and the side carpet/panel and put eyes on your issue and go from there

I've tightened the inboard fuel sensor screws but it is still leaking. I believe it is higher up on the seal. It leaks only with a full tank of fuel on the left side.

If tightening the screw’s doesn’t work, you can move to changing the gasket there.  We’ve got some threads around here on that… need @carusoam to find them though!

Last time Anthony was here was a week ago.  Hope everything is okay.

Also, since the fuel only leaks while the tank is full does anyone know if it is safe to fly if the tank is not completely full?

Mine has had a leak near the top nearly since I bought it.   I know how much I can fill it without it leaking, and just leave it below that if I'm not about to fly it.   I think a lot of Mooneys and other airplanes with wet wings are managed this way.    The pilot determines the airworthiness of the airplane, so ultimately it's your decision.

Eric, I think you just fixed my slight-seepage-when-right-tank-full-to-the-max ;)
