aerobat95 Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Very cool.....how long do the batterys last?? I was looking at mine and the battery pack that comes with it looks like an identical match for the Milwaukee V28 Battery....cost is $140.00 on amazon. Quote
Piloto Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 i had the unit for two years and found that the 28V Li battery was loosing charge duration up to the point of dying at the hangar tracks. Having similar experience with other LI batteries I opted to try motorcycle batteries $40 each for longer life. So far works pretty good. I connected them with an AC power cord to the connector were the LI battery installs. Quote
Cris Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Another way to eliminate the expensive battery is to simply convert the Robotow to ships power with a cigar adapter cord/plug which is what I did. A/C with 24 V work fine but I assume that the 12 V will just run a bit slower. Mine gets moved about 50 ' up a slope with no adverse battery drain although I do use a Battery Minder as a matter of course. This has the added advantage of no concern for battrey acid when I take the Robotow with me. Quote
