Anyone running any form of portable oxygen on board? Been eyeing the mountain high system(constant flow for now) or something similar on sportys or my pilot store. Open to any and all suggestions

Portable O2 is pretty common on Mooneys since they're all pretty much capable of flying up where it is legally needed.

The Mountain High systems are very popular and very good.   The O2D2 is a nice piece of equipment that is used widely in GA.

There are many other choices to pick from and it should be noted that portable system equipment isn't regulated by the FAA, so medical equipment, which is generally much less expensive is also used by many.

Portable electric oxygen concentrators (like Inogen units) have been coming down in price and up in capability and are also starting to be used more in GA.

I have a portable system made mostly with Aerox equipment that can support two people, a very simple medical system for when I'm by myself, and have been looking for a used Inogen G4 concentrator so that I can reduce weight even more.

Lots of options out there these days, and Mountain High stuff is always a good choice.

I have a Sky Ox portable system and really enjoy the pendant cannula versus the more common “under the nose” cannula. It is more comfortable and makes eating and drinking much easier and less messy.

Hmmmmmm…..

how many O2 equipment suppliers are there…?

1) Sky-ox

2) Mountain high

3) would you like a mask to go with that? Or how do you say cannula…?

4) How about oxygen conservation… there is that O2D2 device… enjoyed by all users…

5) Do you only fly solo? Or need a system for four?

6) Have you thought about a back-up system?   Needed for the flight levels…

7) You already bought an O2 sensor for your finger tip right… plenty of choices for those things too… watches and rings as well… and a panel mounted one too…

8) let’s discuss filling equipment as well…

9) Don’t forget basic O2 safety… O2 has a way of making other stuff highly flammable…

10) Good thinking… with an O2 system… you can find out how sensitive you are to altitude over time… and what your side effects are as your O2 level decreases…

11) Hey… want to try the altitude chamber?

Plenty of good info around here…

I am very happy with my Mtn High set up. Carbon fiber tank, O2D2-G2 for the front half of the house and cannulas running off the other three ports for the back half of the house.  Im up high, on O2 fairly often as I like to cruise mid teens.

I looked at all the company’s before I bought and I much prefer the Mtn High regulator; the demand air system is perfect.

Mountain High Pulse-Demand is the only system worth looking at.  The other systems cost less money up front and then you spend more money and time in the long run.

I'm somewhat familiar with the O2D2 demand regulator, but I don't know what the -G2 is.  Is that the portable system that includes a tank?

Second generation, what is currently available.

there are two models of pulse demand O2D2.  The first gen is more “ analog” if you will and the Gen 2 is more user friendly.
