Really hard or impossible to pull the Mount bolts without denting up the foot well boxes with your wrench. Mine were pristine until clowns not to be mentioned decided it “wasn’t that big of a deal”. @M20Doc pulls all of his by removing the engine cradle from firewall first. Top notch way to do it if you ask me. However, if your door wells have already been compromised, and many have, I don’t guess it makes much difference how you do it.

That seems to be the preferred way to do it.    Installation is the reverse.

Great. Thanks. Kinda like what they called a “4 point “ engine change on the DC-6 and the like. My AI and I may get to try that if the source of the oil puddle that suddenly appeared doesn’t reveal itself. But that’s a subject for a different and familiar post.

If you remove it from the mounts, it’s also 4 bolt removal….neither method is especially easy to do.   Keep in mind if you remove then engine, you should be removing the engine mount to get it inspected and repaired as necessary, and then repainted

Removing the mount together with the engine works best for four cylinder Lycoming powered models.

Your TSIO360 sits in a cradle style mount with the bolts going in from the bottom, as do the big Continental engines.  Four cylinder Lycomings have the bolts going in from the back, the lower ones are very close to the firewall and difficult to remove without damaging the firewall.  The six cylinder Lycomings  also have the bolts from the back, but the mount is a bit further from the firewall.
