Requesting an assist from the MS experts on where the electric trim motor is located and easiest way to access it so I can ensure it is plugged in properly.

I have electric trim installed in my 67 M20F with an STEC 60-2.  My electric trim quit working 2 sorties ago, and on my last sortie it was still inop.  There are NO issues with the manual trim.

This same issue occurred about 18 months ago and the shop pulled the motor and bench tested it.  The motor checked good, they reinstalled it and it worked perfectly.  The shop determined it was just a loose connection at the motor and the removal and reinstall reseated the plug and solved the issue.   

Before I call the avionics shop I want to verify if the plug is simply loose.  I understand the motor is in the tail located in the tail, but what is the best/easiest way to access the lcoation and ensure the plug is properly seated?

Thanks....is that accessed via the larger access panel on the pilot side?  The one with the aux power port or via a different panel?

Does anyone happen to have a picture of the installed trim motor?  I have a plane with everything ready to go with the exception of the motor being installed and power wire connected.  Only thing is the power wire is ran to the manual trim wheel location rather than the tail.  Are things different for my 68 g model or did the wire get ran to the wrong place?  Thanks for any help!

Should be the same, I think.   I don't think I've seen the trim motor anywhere but on the shaft in the tail just behind the avionics shelf.

Not the best pic, but this is the bracket that holds it with a chain drive down to the trim shaft.  This is the lower bulkhead just behind the avionics shelf in the tail.  This is how most installations are done.

I have a 64 E with Stec 60-2 and it has Vertical Speed and Alt Hold and will track a Glide Slope, but I don't think that is all done with just the electric trim.  During the ground test the yoke is moved forward or back per the command. So, I am not certain which motor this is without opening the tail and taking a look.  I am on the east coast and won't be home to be able to get more details until the end of the month if you need me to.  Hope this one photo I found helps some, but the actual wiring connection is not shown in this photo.

Thanks, that helps a bunch, I'll take a look in that area tomorrow and see what's there now and the parts I have and see if it makes sense.
