David Perry Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Does anybody know what the Belleville washers on the roll clutch for a century 21 auto pilot are and where to get them? Also what is the torque value for the nut? 78 J century 21
N201MKTurbo Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 The torque on the nut is not a fixed value, you tighten it to get the correct breakaway torque on the clutch. If it is too tight you won't be able to override the autopilot and may burn up the servo. If it is to loose, the autopilot won't be able to fly the plane. 1
David Lloyd Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I knew someone with a mal-adjusted servo clutch. Look up N664AR on the NTSB report site. Making adjustments to this is not something to be taken lightly. 1
David Perry Posted August 20, 2021 Author Report Posted August 20, 2021 Still there has to be a standard and a way to Measure it.
