Hey yall, so my wife just got her ppl (in a 172) and she would like to fly the Mooney. Only problem is that she's about 5'2" and can't reach the rudder pedals at all. We have pushed the seat all the way forward with cushions below and behind her, but still no luck. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? She's still about 3-5 in from even touching them.

Preston,

Expect the three inch extensions to work...

often, people mention their inseam details with what size extension works for them...

Best regards,

Rudder pedal extensions are available in 1.5” and 3” lengths.

Two questions:

1. Do they also go on the passenger side (without brakes)?

2. Where can you find these for sale?

Any Mooney MSC can get them, there are also drawings for them here somewhere.  They’re only applicable to rudder pedals with brake pedals.

I found this on a search.  It looks like it could attach to the copilot rudder bar.  You would of course need some sort of approval.

Those are the 1.5" Here's the Mooney drawing showing both the 1.5 and 3". Note if you order from Mooney, the 1.5" extensions have parts for two pedals (i.e., a complete set for the pilot) whereas the 3" extensions are only for one pedal so you have to order two.
