1964-M20E Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I did some research and found the 1964 M20E models still registered in a continuous block around my serial number. Serial numbers 310, 311, 312, 313, 314, 315 & 316 are all still registered serial number 317’s registration has expired in March of this year. Also the last digit of tail number matches the last digit of the SN. How many 1964 M20E model owners do we have on the board? Quote
1964-M20E Posted July 17, 2013 Author Report Posted July 17, 2013 Unfortunately 6943U SN 313 is no longer. Hurricane Isaac flooded it last year. Quote

1964-M20E Posted July 17, 2013 Author Report Posted July 17, 2013 Yes that was not long after I bought it. I have been enjoying it. I flew about 11 hours since last Thursday in rain and clear. I've been debating on changing my login name. Quote

canuckpilot Posted July 19, 2013 Report Posted July 19, 2013 I have #540 - she is registered as a 1964 but is actually a 1965 model. Guessing Mooney rolled out models ahead of calendar years like the car companies. -matty. Quote

Guessing Mooney rolled out models ahead of calendar years like the car companies. -matty. I'm curious, does yours have square or rounded windows? I suspect those registered as 1964 all have rounded windows and 1965 all have square windows.....but I'm not sure. Quote
rbridges Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 Hey Rob, Square windows. The '65 models are the best. Lol Quote

N757DL Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I have SN: 399 and it is doing good. It is now N757DL rumor has it a Delta Airlines Captain owned it before me. I bet you can't guess what aircraft he flew. Quote
eaglebkh Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 The '65 models are the best. Lol Note so sure... When did the independently retracting foot step feature go away? I like having it - poor man's speed brakes... Quote
1964-M20E Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 I think in 65 the vacuum retract step came out. I liked having the crank to put the step up or down over the vacuum. Quote
ncdmtb Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Das ist gut. wunderbar! Wo in Deutschland sind Sie? I live in Munich. The airplane is based in Augsburg. So I have a good 45min drive :-( Germany is not very GA friendly and it not trivial to find "airports" and hangar space. But at least I can fly IFR approaches there ;-) Quote
Dingo Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 884 living in the Austrailan Bush doing very well Quote
