slowflyin Posted January 20, 2021 Report Posted January 20, 2021 Good Moring, Looking for some advice regarding the variable downspring tension. 94 Bravo. During annual I checked the tension per the service manual and found it to be out of spec. The SM list 14-16 and mine's at 24. It seems a turnbuckle adjustment is the cure. The challenge being it is not accessible via an inspection panel. I would of expected it to have less tension as the AC is 26 years old and the cables certainly don't shrink. Can someone offer advice on the best way to adjust? Additionally, if it came from the factory this way, should it be adjusted? Straying from the SM is not in my nature but a lot can be learned over 26 years. Quote
carusoam Posted January 21, 2021 Report Posted January 21, 2021 Sounds unique... Got a pic? Lets check with the doc... @M20Doc (M20M Variable down spring tension...) Best regards, -a- Quote

slowflyin Posted January 21, 2021 Author Report Posted January 21, 2021 The challenge is the location of the turnbuckle. It's about midway between the depicted inspection panel and the large avionics/battery access panel. Seems I'd have to crawl into the fuselage to adjust it. 1 Quote

Guest Posted January 23, 2021 Report Posted January 23, 2021 There is no easy way to access it, loose weight and grow simian arms. Clarence Quote
