I have more Orion 650s in stock and ready to ship for these earlier Mooney aircraft. These aircraft can also consider the Orion 660, which has a rear facing white LED position light.

Has anyone seen a fading or darkening of the clear “glass” / Plastic? Other makers products turn yellow really quickly. I’d be pissed. :-).

I Haven't seen a yellowed whelen yet.

I had 4 years on my Orion set that I just removed for Aveo wingtips and matching tail light/strobe. They still look like new!

I have an extensive inventory of the 12V and 28V Orion 650 wingtip lights in stock.

I also have one pair of the legacy Orion 650 in stock that I will sell for 10% off, so $413.99 a side. They are very similar to the newer version, just a different look (see below for legacy Orion 650).

I have a pair of these Orion 650s just shipped to a Mooney M20C owner. If you have the flat wingtip with an existing nav/strobe like the photo below, the Orion 650 is the direct replacement for that.

I just shipped a ship set of these Orion 650 lamps for a Mooney owner in the UK (yes we do international shipping). Another option for these Mooney models are the Orion 660, which has the same exact footprint but it also has a rear facing white LED position light. It is not necessary but if you want more light, that is the ticket.

I have an excellent inventory of these Orion 650 LED wingtip lights and I also now carry the AeroLEDs Pulsar 650 wingtip lights. The Pulsar 650 are similar to the Orion 650 (a little more expensive) but from my observation the Pulsar 650 has a more vibrant/white color to it and they are a little brighter. The Orion 650 has replaceable parts (some hardware, lens, gasket), while the Pulsar 650 does not.

Do you have a recommendation to replace the nav/strobe lights on my '79 J?  Mine are working now, but figured it would be smart to get some replacements ready.  Could I replace the strobe unit too?

@Flyler either the Whelen Orion 650 model or the AeroLEDs Pulsar 650 will replace that legacy position/strobe light. Both the Orion 650 and Pulsar 650 have a red or green LED position light and a white LED strobe light. They have the same mounting footprint (screw holes line up) and you can reuse your existing wiring. You do need to locate and permanently remove the strobe power supply because the LED strobe lights take 14 volt direct current power. Leaving the power supply in the electrical circuit will permanently disable the LED strobe lights. The pricing on the Orion 650 and the Pulsar 650 are going up on November 1st with the Orion 650 seeing a sizable price increase from what I can tell right now. Here are links to my website. They are all in stock.

@OSUAV8TER Awesome, thanks for making that so easy for me :)

@Flyler no problem. It's either one or the other. Both are really nice and you will enjoy whatever you pick. The installation is pretty much the same for either.
